We don't really have anything to go by to know this. Terrence Howard and Edward Norton weren't well received, and their respective movies success/critical acclaim wasn't hinged on their performance.

RDJ is "Ironman". He made it successful/popular in modern times. Before "Avengers" his movies were the best reviewed and made the most money out of any Marvel film to date.

So they can't be approaching this news with the same "fukk it" attitude as Norton or Howard. Prior to that first movie nobody gave a fukk about "Ironman" in the mainstream, so I'm not sure they want to gamble on how much of that was the character, and how much was RDJ.

Fred.

I didn't mean Marvel was going to have a fukk you attitude per say...... Marvel not dumb, they know RDJ is crucial in the success of their whole movie universe....but lets keep it reality here, if Ironman 4 feature a completely new actor playing Tony Stark, people will give it a chance...simply because Ironman is fukking awesome...comic book characters are all ready established characters with an all ready established fan base

I feel you but I doubt they would do that though. I could see Thanos killing Tony and then the next "Ironman" focusing on War Machine, Pepper Potts, Happy Hogan, something like that.

Then if Tony popped up one more time in "Avengers 3" because he wasn't really dead :wow:

shyt would do "Thriller" numbers.

Not surprised.
The should just end the Iron Man series with 3 and Avengers 2. Work on Black Panther and other characters

You trying to give me nightmares.....that shyt would almost ruin the Marvel Movie Verse for me imo :pachaha:

I really really really hope they take the 007 approach, because one thing I feel that wont translate well on the big screen which is the all too familiar in the comics is the whole......superhero died...oops not really he was in a coma in the tri universe dimension...and now he is back to save the day:shaq2:

But ur right it could do numbers

I LIVE IN A CARDBOARD BOX!
I mean, RDJ would have to keep himself in great shape for Avengers 3, but it is possible. Look at Harrison Ford in KOTCK (shytty movie aside), he was in his 60's and looked like he hadn't missed a day. Of course, Ford wasn't ever a junkie like RDJ was in the 90's/early 00's either which probably took it's toll on him. RDJ once walked into someone's house that he didn't even know and he was high/drunk as a mothefukker and fell asleep on their bed. The couple found him there when they came home.

:wtf:

That's some Goldielocks and the three bears, "someone is sleeping in my bed" type of shyt right there.

And yeah, he got 50 million for The Avengers. :myman:

Pay that man his money

I don't want any fukking Iron Man reboots! RDJ is Tony Stark. Period.

Who said anything about reboots?

They could just keep on with with what's already established just use a different cast.

Yall being slaves to familiarity....

I don't think they should do anymore iron man films after this 3rd one and the 2nd avengers anyways but if they do I'm sure RDJ can't be replaced. Obviously not easily but he can be. I second the Colin Farrell shout.

Marvel has said they would not reboot Iron Man if RDJ left after iron man3/avengers 2. They wanna keep it like 007 and not keep rehashing origin stories.

Get Jeffrey Dean Morgan and keep it moving...

I like him as an actor but I think he's too big physically to be Stark. Plus most fans would already see him as more cynical than Stark due to him already having played Comedian.

Whoever said Colin Farrell though :ld:

This ^^^^

There is no need for anymore Iron Man films. All I ask is for him to be in the Avengers sequel and then he can be on his way. The Marvel universe is too deep just to be centered on one character. Movies can get B-level characters A-level popularity.....e.g. Iron Man
