After seeing this, I don't see how black players choose to go to schools like Alabama

Things would change if all black players did this. But we live in a society that worships the individual and leads people to not give a fukk about their fellow man and the greater good. I can guarantee if the top 100 football players started going to black colleges ESPN would have a contract with them they day after signing day.

Bruh, I understand your sentiment, but this is not a case of....."if A happens then B happens". Sorry, it doesnt work like that.

You ever notice how much bigger these most of these players get from high school to college? The big "white" schools have top-notch weight lifting programs, top notch personal trainers, nutritionists, to aid in this. They have top notch training equipment that's computerized, saunas/ice rooms for recovery......all kinds of stuff that's changed even since I was around it at OU. A large majority of this does not exist at HBCU's....now maybe it COULD if like another poster said we prop up maybe 2-3 top HBCU's. But that won't happen.

So in other words, these black players you see currently at Alabama, etc would NOT look like they do if they had gone to HBCU's. They more than likely would not be as good as what you see them develop into.

Also, you got coaches at a school like Alabama, etc with a resume full of players they've sent to the NFL, and with direct NFL coaching experience themselves. They know what a player of his size needs to do, what kinda scheme to put him in to make him his best....in some ways it's a direct pipeline to a future of millions of dollars. All alot of these players have to do is walk a straight line.

But I'll never understand why y'all want these 19 year old kids, many of whom are from underprivileged backgrounds, to choose the lesser of two options and put themselves behind the 8-ball in life FURTHER than they already are. Are y'all gonna take care of them when they don't develop into their full potential?

:snoop: You got HBCU's struggling for loot and black players down south flock to schools like Alabama and they don't give 2 fukks about these players. These schools make Millions off of black players coming to there school. The whole scholarship argument is bullshyt as well. Lets say Alabama has 80 players on scholarship at 60k per year. that's 4.8 million. They can pay for that plus other expenses with the ticket sales from 2 home games. I would never allow my child to go to a school like Alabama. Black players are just plain naïve and ignorant at the same time.

If I'm a high caliber HS athlete I'm thinking which coach/school is getting me to the NFL. That simple.

Stanford, Oregon, Bama, OSU, take your pick

actually any fbs school can get you to the nfl

the first pick in this years draft was from a low level mac team central michigan

khalil mack maybe the first lb selected in this draft and he goes to buffalo. and buffalo athletic department is not the greatest.

HBCU's don't have the money to support their teams the way other colleges do. Plus the other colleges get more attention, more attention means better chances to be seen and better your draft position.

Plus as long as you perform well for the team you get all the benefits of compartmentalization. If you play poorly though you'll be just another ****** to them like the other black folks on campus (only you'll get death threats).

They don't have the money because they don't have the commercial base to raise the money needed to maintain good programs. It's a damn shame too because HBCUs graduating successful athletes would be a net benefit for African Americans.

They're never going to have those bases because they'll never be able to fanbases made up primarily of people who never even went to their schools. Plus their alumni isn't significant enough to support the school adequately, then you factor in these states cutting their funding and essentially trying to bury them.

They'd need two or three really good classes who go high in the draft in order to get things in order, but kids aint willing to gamble their potential NFL careers on these teams.

There's no reason 5 mcdonalds all Americans can't team up and go to an hbcu basketball squad.....this would actually get them more attention than going to Kentucky

because after they get stomped out BY Kentucky anyway in the first round you'd be saying, "they shoulda went to Texas like me :smugfavre:"

300 murders a year
It's on the hbcu to recruit the best players and do more for the marketing of the recruited players

Because the bottoms line is although its a form of c00ning it's c00ning you can't blame them for because they want to go to the nfl and the nfl pull the players from schools like Alabama first. They have bigger platforms to perform on the nfl scouts swarm those schools where as they send a few on the humble to the hbcu

It is what it is
