1. yes
2. no.. championships generate revenue.. players go to whatever team is going to get them to the money (NFL) ..
so if you're 18 right now and you're thinking of what college to play football at.. are you going to go to a team with a shytload of rings, that plays every game on national tv, that's blasted all over espn, that has a history of players being drafted, with 500 million a year in donations to coaches, equipment, specialists, etc etc, that'll probably be in some sort of bowl game if not the national championship
or are you going to say fukk that... i'm going to support an HBCU that will never get you any shine.. or wins.. has shytty field, stadium, equipment, coaches, etcc etc... most likely will never be on tv unless they getting stomped by alabama, and only has 10 players in the nfl???
these dudes care about themselves.. it's not the nba where 3 (in football terms you'd need about 20) players all decide to go to one school and win. one great qb isn't getting your team anywhere if everything and everyone else is horrible.. and now you've just knocked yourself down to the 5th round. where you could have been lined up for 1-2 good or great years at a big school and gone 1-4th
