Just like I saw in the hood and in real life, the message was clear. Once you get in, it's hard to come out, if you come out at all. So what's wrong with putting the message on the screen again, since so many seem to have forgot since the 80's and 90's, when they flooded all the Black neighborhoods with drugs and weapons. This was better than seeing another Black comic book movie that started in the ghetto, and finished in the ghetto...leaving a little boy asking, "Who is that?", to his father. That sound familiar? Well it did a few times when I was that little boy, but my father came back, and got us out. But here that same father T'Challa/Black Panther, wounds up dead in Infinity Wars, before a "Black Panther part two" movie about coming back to get his son, or the rest of us out this mess we're in in America, is even made, if it will ever be made. Don't mean to be a spolier, but at least the brother got the h*** out America in the new Superfly, although he could have did it better, and his character makes that clear throughout the entire movie....so what part of his message people didn't get? Now I'm not going to knock anybody if they'd put Black Panther over Superfly, but something is wrong with you if you'd put some "Avenger Infinity War" BS over the new Superfly.

I'm getting too deep?...probably so, over a movie, just like some of you appear to be too hard on the new "Superfly", especially when you haven't even seen it. But I want to touch upon the the original "Superfly" for a minute. Although I take my hat off to the late Curtis Mayfield, why is everybody scared to give props to or even mention the original Superfly (Priest), who was the late Ron O'Neal. That isn't adding up, but I already know why. That's worst than giving all the credit to Gladys Night in "Claudine", and not mentioning Diahnn Carroll.

Now back to the new "Superfly". Every movie can have flaws. And the main two I see in this one was first, his girlfriend in that sex scene. How is your woman going to share you with another woman like that, if she's wife material. That part may have been better fitted in Wakanda. The second flaw was how it ended, with his partner still in the club living the high life, the same scene Priest wanted to escape. But at least his partner didn't end up dead. But in real life, that life style is short lived, and shouldn't be glorified. Anybody with common sense should see that, regardless of how the movie ended. But I can tell you one thing, most White people probably won't like this movie.

Kept my attention and their was even old head couples that enjoyed it so stop hating. See the film first. There was a good amount of satire in it as well. Like the obvious obnixious face tats on purpose and the fact that the rivals did what they did. Dope

SOMETHIN REAL FO YO ASS IN THESE HANDS!!!!
Fam...

You just compared Curtis Mayfield to Big Krit...
I said what I said.

He the closest thing......
Producer
Composer (already has credits for original scores and stuff)
Writer
Rapper
Engineer

Can sample with the best of em, but can also put together his own new melodies and sounds.

should I continue?
The only knock (if this is one) is that to my knowledge, he doesn't actually play any actual instruments.

don't worry, folks will appreciate him, well after his best work, JUST LIKE THEY DID CURTIS
