They can use idTech. Why continue with Unreal Engine?

Its the ugliest engine in the industry. A complete disaster, 343 should be embarrassed. Halo Infinite is the ugliest AAA game ever made.
It's not the engine, it's their choice to use real time lighting/shadows over static lighting.
343 should be embarrassed over infinite, but not for that reason they took a risk vying for realism and failed

Probably easier to transition to an engine members of the team have experience with as apposed to pulling people off id projects to teach them idtech. While Microsoft owns Zenimax I don't think it's as easy as just asking for whatever they want.
Now someone convince those fakkits at EA to switch to Unreal 5

1. it'll be easier on Unreal Engine so this is a good thing, especially for contractors. Engine was a mess that made it hard to add basic shyt like playlists.
2. The 500 million dollar number was from a German rumor site, and has never been proven true. its a shame people continue to use an unproven rumor for clicks.

This has no current consequence on Infinite right now right? This is for any future Halo. *gulps*.
The official rumor is that it’s for a spin off BR game not even being made by 343 and releasing in 2024-25.
