Goldlink??

I may have seen the name up here or somewhere, but never listened to any material. He is apparently African American from DMV area, but making Afrobeat Hip Hop with some of his latest album. Never heard other albums, so don't know what his real sound is like.

Goldlink - "DIASPORA" - June 12th

track here is fiyah.

Needs a proper video...preferably on the continent.

For Afrobeat to really sweep up in the U.S., it's necessary for African Americans to really make an imprint, along with your 1st generation artists like Rotimi, and along with artists directly from the continent.

It's a nice sound. African-Americans should definitely accept this style. It feels like home. We are a joyful people. It just feels good to listen to.

It does.

I barely listen to hip hop and r&b unless it’s old school I am all about the Afro beat. Music still has heart unlike black American music nowadays.

I feel what you saying.

There are still Hip Hop/R&B artist putting out fulfilling music, but I completely understand what you saying.

This shiit is refreshing and dope. Like anything, going be tracks I'm not feeling. I hope some seasoned high caliber rappers and singers get on this early wave, and make it their own...
