portugal left their colonies in the second half of the 20th century, so the euro influence on the language is really strong. it's prettier than in europe, but it's very similar for the most part, especially to the untrained ear

brazil produces the most portuguese mass media, so the sp/rio dialects have had a big influence over portuguese and african language in the past 30 years, especially because of novelas

It's funny how that happens. When the colony becomes such a large, populous country, the dialect and culture of the former colony, starts to influence the mother country. Kinda like The US and The UK.

Why does the definition of blackness have to be so narrow???? Black isn't monolothic at all. It's diverse and expansive, You don't have to be dark skin with kinky hair to be black you're excluding millions of black people with this definition, that's very divisive

Exactly man that heffa is a sick mentally. Hell in high school I dated a Nigerian sista and a sista from france. At the end of the day we were black....no one externally could tell they weren't black Americans.

Hell I am from Chicago and my wife is from a country town in Mississippi. Culturally we are totally different. She grew up in the country living off the land. Dad would go out and hunt dear and wild animals and bring it home for my wife and sisters to clean and cook the food. I grew up in a upper class neighborhood in chicago and never went hunting or lived in the country.

My wife and I were born and raised totally different ends of the spectrums.

You know this shyt reminds me of a woman I knew. She broke up with her fiance because he was pressuring her to get married. She had cold feet and just didn't want to get married. Well 1 year and a half later he meets marries this pretty thick chocolate sista from Ghana. His ex fiance finds out and goes nuts. Calling me telling me how could he marry another women. Then the heffa sends me a picturing saying his wife ain't even black he couldnt even get a real black woman he got an African....lol. I look at the picture of his wife and I am like are you fukking nuts this woman is black. She just from another country and speaks another language.

I'd duck and dodge the bullets to get to her. I think I might've heard of Zona Norte in a documentary or something. It's one of those hillside favelas. That's why those Afro-Brazilian sistas keep their physique. Those Favelas seem like a CLIMB. Every-time I watch those documentaries on The Favelas, I'm always in awe of how they were able to have such a densely urban, and densely populated urban zones on those STEEP hillsides. They even have cable, satellite, and internet access all the way up there, and boy do they live UP there. I'd be seeing arcades, next to homes, next to apartments, next to whatever, tightly packed together up on those hillside favelas. Their ingenuity always intrigued me.
