I don't believe this is true.

the historical fact is that before the Scramble of Africa, there was no such nation called Ethiopia.

I look at how Ethiopian is able to nation build while a place like Nigeria is in disarray except Igboland and I think the same was generally true back then.
Ethiopia is an undeveloped shyt hole. The capital has many Unpaved roads just outside the airport. Nigeria is 5x richer when adjusted for population. Nigeria is far and away the richest country in Africa. Ethiopia is all hype.

Population, they have the largest, and they have a higher GDP, but that higher GDP does not translate to the general population. I have a friend who had been to both Nigeria, and Egypt. When he had stayed in Egypt for nearly 6 months, there was no rolling blackouts, hence electricity was always available, so no need for a generators and even in villages in Upper Egypt(which i often visit) or Southern Egypt there is always reliable clean water and electricity. From what i heard about Nigeria that was not the case, but the opposite even in some of there large cities. I have never been to Nigeria, but that is what i heard, but if they get their electricity or power in order for the masses, then things would look different for Nigeria. Also, in large cities such as Lagos they even lack a proper metro or subway system. Which Cairo and other cities in mainly North Africa and South Africa besides (Sudan) has. At the same time Egypt is definitely not comparable to most western or some eastern societies by far. Nigeria has potential but it is definitely not there yet!

I was talking about Ethiopia not Egypt or sudan. NIgeria 600 billion gdp Ethiopia 50 billion. Ethiopia has half the population but 1/10th the economy. Ethiopia has most the wealth in even tinier percentage of hands then Nigeria.
And Egyptians cant manage to even live more then 10 miles from the Nile. They all live within 5 miles of it. Egypt is a welfare state

Abyssnia is what Europeans called Ethiopia.

That's not true at all, Agew/Amhara region and Tigray region were originally called Abyssinia only, the map i posted show the exact location of Abyssinia.

Eastern and southeastern of present day Ethiopia was part of greater Somalia.

You are absolutely right about Ethiopia, however, Nigeria is worse than Ethiopia.

Ah so I'm right then? Europeans did call Ethiopia, Abyssinia. Please, don't let your nationalism get in the way of reason

Only Northern Ethiopia region was known as Abyssinia, We Agew/Amhara, Tigrayans and some Eritrean ethnic groups were called 'the Abyssinians' by the Greek.
