Yes they are. A lot of their culture was passed down by the slaves, but many people may not even realize it. There are a lot of things that Africans do and say right now culturally that many AA's know about. The AA's may not know the reason always behind the custom, but it was passed down nonetheless by the slaves.

As a kid, I heard it alot mostly from other black kids. I never heard it from adults tho.

Middle school is when it stops and u actually start to mingle with people.

High school, everyone is pretty grown and have known each other for a long time, so no beef there.
