Yes and no, we can go two routes. We can split off and become independents or even venture back into the Republican party. But that would take several election cycles for that to work. I think the better, solution that will bring results more quickly, would be to come to a consensus on the top 3-5 issues plaguing us in America, then we actually put this on paper and make that our manifesto. We then need to make our presence known in Washington by inserting some new blood into the Congressional Black Caucus, and reinvigorate our activities through the NCAAP as well as perhaps starting some new organization. Just for starters.

truth. blacks can never tell you what they want that is doable. just some wide range non specifics.
where they should start IMO is do a big push fighting companies that outsource factory jobs. stiffer penalties for those companies and better tax breaks for those who don't. now does this scream "black" cause, no but a lot of blacks work those factory jobs and get let go due to outsourcing.
just my thoughts.

I hate talking about my own people, but most of them can't tell you what they want the democratic party/president to do. Black people really thought that having a half-black president was going to get them free hand outs and we would magically be living "the American dream" all of a sudden :snoop: . nikkas are in the same boat as CACs to me now, can't stand them for the most part

Well, I think we need an actual agenda that we can pressure the Dems to adopt (or risk low turnout).

But giving Republicans more power is hustling backwards.

All you hear in the media is the Democrats are going to do a lot for the Latino community. Because Latino voted more for Obama than Romney. Last I checked, African Americans voted more for Obama than Latinos and the Dems are not doing shyt for African Americans.

african americans aren't americans? dems are doing plenty for america. you nikkas need to stop trying to remove yourself from the american people as a whole.

Learn your history. The "black agenda" is not complex. It is simply implementing targeted policies to address the same issues that plague all Americans but have historically and disproportionally effect blacks.

So we are talking jobs. The US post office for example is the largest employer of blacks so its no wonder it's in the cross hairs of white republicans. Private sector discrimination.. Equally qualified Black applicants don't don't stand a chance at many private companies due to discrimination. And if the do get the job they are paid less.

We are talking healthcare. Blacks received the lowest quality healthcare and are not treated aggressively by doctors or given preventive care at the same rates as their white counterparts...

We are talking money. Access to loans at competitive rates. How many major banks have to settle discrimination lawsuits before we take this seriously.. We need more programs and grants for black owned business to ensure they are able to employ and train people in the communities they operate.

I can go on but you get the point. The black agenda is not that complicated. Its focusing on the impact to the black community alone.. not minorities.. not Latinos.. not gays.. just blacks.

Props. Are blacks who have the govt's ear fighting for those things and making sure they're known? And do most blacks who vote know that's what we need?

1st Round Playoff Exits
Was just thinking about this today.

Honestly, I was kind of hoping for a progressive / third party to emerge or at least start gaining ground over the next 4-16 years.

As for the black agenda, if there is one, it's simple, ownership. Own sh*t. Stay the fukk away from debt, if possible. Own businesses, give back to the community, mentor youth. What good is a college education, if we're not transcending an olive branch of knowledge back down to future generations...

With that said, here's a dope video, about the state of future politics in America. It references white flight, the black vote, the asian / east indian vote, the hispanic vote and the future of the democrat and republican party...

We definitely need to own more shyt.

Another thing that I think might be a good thing to have on the "black agenda" is decriminalization of marijuana and much lighter penalties for nonviolent drug crimes. Too many black people are in jail because of some bullshyt weed charge or something. And that kind of thing can follow you long term and stop you from being able to find a job years later.

I also think some kind of government policy that would encourage businesses to invest in inner cities and bring jobs there would definitely be good, though I'm not sure exactly what the best way to do that is. But I do know that black people are at a geographic disadvantage when it comes to finding jobs. We tend to live in the areas (typically the inner-city) with the fewest jobs.
