"I have authorized the deployment of approximately 5,000 US troops to make sure we can have an orderly and safe drawdown of US personnel and other allied personnel and an orderly and safe evacuation of Afghans who helped our troops during our mission and those at special risk from the Taliban advance," Biden said in a statement.

That's not a "we back" situation lol. It's just to facilitate the withdrawal.
If it’s not “we back,” then when are the troops leaving?

Everything was already explained. The troops are to protect the American embassy officials and Afghans who helped the US. The troops are there to FACILITATE the withdrawal so that there isn't another Iran hostage crisis situation.

What's hard to understand? :gucci:

Right, which is why there is no end date in that statement.

It almost seems like the allies were training the Taliban and not the Afgan forces. I read that there were 200k afghan forces and 60k taliban.
Either there is a bigger play by design or this is a gargantuan embarrassment of historical proportion. Trillions of dollars and 20 fuking years only to get rolled over in a few months ?
