i remember reading something about having to hit an income threshold in order to face the mandatory fine. it was basically saying that poor people won't have to pay any penalty.

Poor people get Medicaid
I heard a brotha on Black Agenda Radio talk about this a few months back saying there are three tiers of premiums with Obamacare that the poor won't be able to afford.

All plans will be subsidized by the government

Small business with 3 to 9 employees- 49% offer Health insurance

10 to 24 employees- 78% offer it

> 200 employees 99% offer it

@Trip your claims about hurting small business are not based on reality seeing how a majority of small business already offer it.

Not to mention, in 2014 small business are going to receive a 50% tax credit to offset the cost of providing health insurance

Tax credit was 25% before obamacare:obama:

offering it and covering it are two different things...some smaller businesses will offer it, but the plans stink. Also depends on the employee and their title. Low waged/part time workers generally arent offered health plans.

Their plans are not as good as big business because they don't have bargaining power, etc

But, that's what obamacare is for.

The insurance exchanges create a marketplace where they can shop for better insurance and receive a tax credit for half it's cost.

How does this destroy small business again?

Because many small businesses arent pulling in enough profit to cover every person they employ.

But they're eligible for medicaid at no cost to them. So they have an insurance option.

I bet the owners are covered... I bet they are not paying the employees a reasonable wage

Edit: most small business provide coverage

You dont own a business do you?

Nope, you want to enlighten me on how I should feel the plight of the minority of small business that can't afford health insurance and don't have to comply if they have < 50 employees feel?

dont even bother....they're not going to respond to hard economics and numbers. They're just going to regurgitate whatever business owners tell them to think. They'll keep playing good corporate solider, while wealth inequality continues to grow like a hot air balloon. Its just sickening.
