Breh, I thought something like that too. When OT was about to be announced I thought Danielson had convinced Tony to book a 2 hour matchI thought he was gonna say one more hour
I disagree completely. MJF is a good wrestler, he's very good at showing vulnerability and how to use to explain little things in a match (why he took long to pin someone, why he couldn't win in certain situation, why he sees no other option but to cheat, etc.) and he's good enough on everything else. The main thing he's not very good at is chain wrestling and he sadly thinks otherwise, and inserts long reversals spots of very basic holds that look way too choreographed. It would be much better if he would lean in more into the struggle on holds instead of flashy sequences. He's not ZSJ, who can at least do the flashy chain wrestling shyt and make it look as impressive as it can ever look.
This one especially, as MJF is awful. This desperately needed to be a Cena/Orton spectacular but instead we got a very bad 30 minute match and then it kept going.
Regarding the match I thought it was a very good Iron Man match and Danielson once again showed he's the master at structuring matches so they can peak at the perfect moment. Dude had the crowd going wild over a single boston crab for almost two straight minutes
The first 35 minutes of the match were very Flair-like. With a very basic premise being presented (arm vs leg) and stretched as long as possible to fill time, that portion will probably be the key in determining how much or little someone liked the match, it flew by to me which was a good thing but they didn't do a lot of compelling shyt in that first half, which is a standard of every Iron Man match so I can't act like I was expecting something better.
The last 25 minutes and OT were masterfully worked. It had a better and longer closing run than Danielson vs Page, which also had the crowd going wild for the finishing stretch.
