Low key, there's been subtext the entire existence of AEW that Kenny didn't want to leave Japan but felt he had to support his friends because he was the biggest name and the company wouldn't exist without him. It's barely even subtext when his entrance video his him wandering around Japan by himself and all of his promos of late talks about how great he was in Japan. I would imagine that's where this whole thing is heading, with Kenny on Impact saying his Elite friends were just using him to get a show and Don Callis is his true friend looking out for him.

Well TNA DID suck for a long time and if you were to see clips of their shows in a vacuum right now you'd probably think it has to be terrible :yeshrug:

I know people say Impact is a good product now but the reality is they will always have that old TNA smell to them. And AEW employing every old ass ex-WWE/WCW dude already makes them too TNA esque IMO.

I assume they wanted to do a cross promotion angle with New Japan but King of Sports have continued to no sell their advances. No forgiveness for The Elite's disloyalty until Omega gets squashed by Master Wato

Looks like this relationship might not be a long-term thing.

This past Wednesday night, AEW presented a special edition of Dynamite titled "Winter Is Coming". On top of the surprise debut of Sting, the show ended with Kenny Omega defeating Jon Moxley for the AEW World Heavyweight Championship. Omega was assisted by current Impact executive Don Callis for the win. Following the bout, Callis announced that Omega would be headed to Impact this coming Tuesday to discuss the title win.

Wrestling Inc. has learned that the relationship between Impact and AEW is not currently scheduled to be that intertwined. From what we have heard, Omega's appearance on Impact will be a one-off and was largely done as a favor from Omega for Don Callis, who is a good friend of Omega's. Omega also requested that Don work as the commentator for his big title win over Moxley.

Tony Khan apparently liked the idea and signed off on it. Beyond Omega making a one-off appearance on Impact, it was also relayed to us that The Good Brothers will likely be coming to AEW for one match as well. Omega's appearance on Impact this Tuesday will likely be used to setup the Brothers coming to AEW to take on a team that was not disclosed to us, however, the Young Bucks would seem likely.

Furthermore, we have heard that Don Callis' contract with Impact Wrestling may be coming up next month. Once Callis is done with Impact, it sounds like he would move to AEW full-time to work as Omega's on-screen manager.

That works :ehh:

Callis as a Heenan esque manager could be dope. He'd also be good to replace JR's old washed up commentary too. His New Japan commentary was dope.
