Tony clearly did not have shyt mapped out for Mariah’s reign outside of “Trilogy???” Written in bold letters.

He somehow made the shyt with Mina-Chwaaaan feel like filler, and rushed the shyt out of the second match with Toni (along with Toni’s reverting back to Timeless) to pop the Aussie crowd.

And ending this match with a small package basically summed up this entire reign and Tony’s failure at making something meaningful out of it
You can’t put much blame on Tony when it’s up to the wrestler to get themselves when they step through the curtain. Mehriah can cut a promo, but she’s diva status in the ring.

Look at Harley Cameron. She got herself over because she’s charismatic. May doesn’t have that. Harley may not be putting on great matches, but she is improving in the ring.

Send May to the bushes and push Willow and Stat. They deserve, and earned, it more than May. :camby:

Having a world title change happen on TV is Important step in helping make the TV product more must watch. The expansion of the PPV schedule has really hindered that and AEW has largely struggled to find the balance since TK wants the PPVs to have a million matches.

Last time the men’s AEW title changed hands on TV was Grand Slam 2022 but that was a vacant title. Last time the title holder lost it on TV was August 2022 with that weird Moxley squashing Punk match.

Last time the women’s AEW title changed hands happened on TV was October 2023 when Shida beat Saraya.

She’s boring. Shes better than Baker, but that’s not saying much. Not even top 15-20 between both rosters. :russell:

I’m supposed to like her because she can work the mic? Don’t be fooled by a blonde haired white woman with an accent who did some tours in Japan. I like Mina, but I’ll be the first to tell you she’s nothing special in the ring. At least she uses sex appeal to get over. :mjlol:

If they aren’t doing a trilogy with Mariah May and Toni Storm, I wonder what the direction is for both now.

There doesn’t feel like there is a heel on the roster that could believably beat Toni Storm unless they want to go with Mercedes vs. Toni, which would be stupid as long as Mercedes is holding the TBS title.

Good show with a great crowd. They had a hiccup with the venue change, but it turned out for the better. Crowd reaction is always better in a closed arena.

Main event was overbooked and the finish was unexpected. I thought for sure they would bring in the bloody shoe to push the pin. Solid match nonetheless.

Okada reminds me of Naka with his no fukks given attitude. Aside from his early months and the C2 win, he’s been whatever. Dude is just here to collect a check. :skip:

Great opener. The finish was unique. :ehh:

As expected, Mone elevating Harley. :ehh:
Nakamura kills me because IWC be online talmbout he needs to go back to Japan and start killing shyt like before, and assume that’s what dude wants

Yet everytime there’s a contract renewal dude ends up staying on this side of the pond. Getting paid how much to surf, attend MMA practice with the likes of Kross and Riddle, and wrestle the occasional Soft Style tv match?

Lowkey he probably told Okada in private “You better come over here (to America) and get this easy money!”

But let the marks bytch about their booking and think they know what’s best for the personal lives of strangers they see on tv. :mjlol:

Nakamura - going back to Japan as a 44-year-old and attempting to work that Japan strong style stuff for a deep discount just doesn’t make any damn sense unless someone just wants to work banger matches. And if that’s what someone wants to do, they’d just go to AEW to get they paycheck and work less.

They're definitely doing a third match since they are tied 1-1 and this one ended with a small package for a reason, they still haven't run a violent stipulation match which is probably the next step, it's just a matter of when, do they stretch this out for a few months and do it in Texas at All In or do they plan it sooner at Revolution, Dynasty or Double Or Nothing.
