I appreciate your honesty lol. Sometimes people don’t be as truthful as a way to justify their purchase. If this is not a yearly release I won’t be copping until it’s $20-$30 :salute:
If they do refund me, I’ll probably purchase it again down the line once the price drops

It’s not a terrible game at all, but it’s def not worth the 70 I paid lmao. I was just eager to play it

The gameplay is fun, faced my boy a couple times already and it brought the feeling back. Just the other features are so lacking. No full entrances, no CAW options in terms of designing like model and attire. Story mode could have been so much more better, there's no real depth or reward for completing it more than once. The actual AEW models I can live with, we all knew the graphics would be jank compared to 2K.

Keeping in mind that this is a game planned for update patches every year, and depending on how they use that, I would say this is a cop if you have at least on wrestling homie who you can run matches with. Or if you buying on PC because the eventual mods will make the game more fleshed out. If you are looking for a game to play by yourself and really nerd out into single player hold off.

6/10 for now. We all knew the stuff that wasn't actually the gameplay was going to be average, but this isn't just average it's lackluster.

I mean I get what they tried to do, but the problem with trying to combine 2 games that are considered the GOATs(HCTP is the GOAT fukk No Mercy) is that you basically can't decide which parts you want to implement that'll make it a cohesive game. The only thing they took from No Mercy was the special meters and short entrances, and the only thing they took from HCTP was the dark atmosphere. So what we're left with is a game that doesn't know what it wants to be. Retro Rebound basically summed it up perfectly and you can trust his review since he's an admitted AEW stan, but even he couldn't lie about the game's failures.

This is the most accurate review I've seen.

The Negro League storyline part is amazing, but I feel pretty short. They go through the stories of Satchel Paige, Hilton Smith, John Donaldson, Rube Foster, Buck O'Neil, Hank Thompson, Martin Dihigo and Jackie Robinson. I learned a lot about guys I didn't know much about like Martin Dihigo and John Donaldson.

I've just been playing Diamond Dynasty, which has been a lot of fun collecting cards & throwing together teams to play online. It's weird because I usually play Road to the Show every time I buy the game, but I haven't even touched it yet.
I gotta get back into The Show. The last one I have is 20 and I didn't get 21 or 22 because so many people said they weren't much better than 20. Baseball games are actually really relaxing to play, and I always end up spending a lot of time in the HR Derby.

Played it a good bit after getting home from work. Haven't finished story mode but once you're done with that I can see a lot of people being like "what's the point?" if they aren't playing with friends or online.

And story mode is kind of dumb thus far. Had like 3 tag team matches and they had me turn in my tag partner after winning tag gold because he played a joke in my by stealing my luggage so I had to wrestle in street clothes :hhh:

They desperately need to add some modes with replay value.

The breadth of moves and quantity of moves you can give each wrestler is breath taking. Rest of CAW is worthless though.

Gameplay is very fun and easy to learn. It creates a very strong foundation to work with. They just put what feels like a tiny home on top that foundation.

2k23 is pretty fun, but the problem with AEW is
1. No voices
2. You don’t get to make decisions
3. No continuity, you win a title and it’s only acknowledged during that storyline
4. It’s repetitive
5. The writing is awful
6. It felt like it was made in 2003
7. It’s not a yearly release so I expected the story mode to be way better than that
Are you talking about AEW the game or the show? :troll:

Is there somewhere that lists what you got to do to unlock all the unlockable content? When I look in the challengers screen all the rewards are just TK cash and in the shop outside of story mode it was pretty barren outside of generic junk. There’s got to be stuff you can unlock by doing something other than just buying it with your TK bucks, right?
