:manny: It’s a Lowkey demotion but any wrestling show would get moved for one of the big 4 American sports (in this case it was for the NHL)

TBS isn’t bad and they’re getting more money for the move, 4PPV quality shows on TNT and an extra show/hour

all in all, not bad for AEW :manny:

I will say TNT has more prestige or is at least well known and they could’ve gotten more audiences if someone didn’t change the channel after basketball

Tony Khan did say if they moved the show, Turner would have to pay more. I guess it really happened.

More money and more homes with TBS is good. Being on TNT with the NBA and the Nitro history did add a cool factor though. I could see why some see it as a downgrade.

Overall, I think they will be fine. The AEW audience doesn't seem to have a problem following the brand.

I don't disagree. I'll watch on either channel just like most AEW fans will. I only watch TNT for NBA and AEW. Now I'll only watch TNT for NBA. If it had just been them making AEW move with no compensation then I'd be concerned but they actually got a good package out of it.

They had no other choice but to give them compensation for the move to not make it look like a demotion.

They're moving to a station that's in more households and getting a second show plus more revenue. Plus 4 PPV like shows. Sounds like a good deal.

:dwillhuh:

Had no idea that TBS was in more homes than TNT. Just assumed that since they are generally packaged together then they would be in the same amount of households.

At worst, it's a lateral move. Being on TBS, they at least don't have to be worried about being preempted for a month or so due to NBA and NHL playoffs. Plus they'll still have a weekly TNT show and quarterly specials so there will still be a TNT presence.

If something happened on the level of going from TNT to a lesser channel (ala TNA going from Spike to Destination America), then yea, this would be a L. The only ones who would consider this a massive and colossal L are WWE Stooges.

Will they change the tnt title to the tbs title

:troll:

They should have called it the TV Title from the jump. TNT Title was a stupid fukking name to begin with.

seems like turner and warnermedia doesn’t want to lose aew at the moment, them renegotiating revenue and them getting it is a big deal imo
