I moved out when I went to college and haven't been back. I'm 24 and like the independence.
Something about living under someone elses roof and following their rules just isnt for me.
this is more indicative of the economy than anything else.
You cant just blame it on the economy. Time spent playing games and posting on forums could be spent stacking bread to get out of your people's crib.

I bet your parents are like :smugdraper:

Dad gonna be like "we sellin the house, you ain't no chip off the old block I see" then mom dukes gonna say some slick shyt like "The apple tree was on a hill"
But you claim you could move out, so this revelation won't kill ya...

I could hook you up with an internship to Deznuts :manny:

:heh:

But seriously, if they did that I'd be aight. With the bread I'm trying to stack currently, I should have house down payment money in like two years.. Hopefully much quicker than that, trying to get promoted in the next 8 months.

:scusthov: at wasting your youth living at home.

I dont think id move back even if it was rent free and I was paid 1200 a month. Dont get me wrong though, I had a great childhood. :pachaha:

You live out in the suburbs though so you don't really know what kind of experiences you're missing out on. Plus if you're happy living with your parents then save that money.

I personally don't like being told what to do or having people in my business so I pay for the privilege of my own spot. Being able to bring girls and friends over whenever I want is just a plus.

Thats exactly what Im doing, saving that bread. I'm frugal with money in video games, so Im definitely like that in real life.

Thats whats up. But for me, I don't have that problem. I don't like friends over at my house anyway. And my parents have no problems with me bringing females over either or them spending the night. I be fukking the shyt outta bytches in my room. I don't give a fukk, if they there/hear or not. :steviej:

My moms did gimmie a look one time :wtb:, and said I hope you using condoms. I was like, I wasn't using that part of her. She didn't get it.

Nah. This generation is just dumb and a little entitled. I've had fresh graduates and cats 4 or 5 years outta college under me that were mad they weren't management after 6 months on the job and all they did was play on Facebook half the day. I'm not gonna look down on folks making a decision to stay with their folks even though I'd die first before going back, but it's a little ridiculous to say a generation got fukked.

Apart from the fact in Britain there is a serious shortage of council housing and my mum bought a house on a road just outside London 10 years ago for 130000, today a house on the same road is 280000-300000 (for a modest 3 bedroom semi detached house), it's safe to say a generation is getting fukked.

its ok to live with your parents as a stepping stone. a temporary solution and you're working towards something better using that to stack chips.

if you're over the age of 25 and have never lived alone or moved out of their house you're in the danger zone. that's the point where you end up working the dead end job that doesn't pay enough to leave but keeps you going if somebody else is paying the bills.

to me that's the age where if you haven't established something you're on the path to being stuck there. hell i say by 23 if you aren't close to being finished with college or working a job where you can support yourself try and join the Navy or the Air Force and get out.

Threads like these make me feel like an alien in my own generation. Been on my own since I was 17. I couldn't even imagine still living with my parents.

:mindblown:
everybody has their own path breh. My parents are cool so living with them aint no big deal. Its mildly annoying sometimes but its better than having absolutely no money to spend on anything or not having enough time to do anything other than school/work everyday
