to me that's the age where if you haven't established something you're on the path to being stuck there. hell i say by 23 if you aren't close to being finished with college or working a job where you can support yourself try and join the Navy or the Air Force and get out.

These are great solutions. Definitely.

Hell I see no problem staying at home with your parents after graduation stacking your money, paying loans off, paying car note off, or looking for a better job.

I know for me that's what Imma do until I join the Air Force.

Why struggle if you don't have to just to have pride.
fukk pride.

I got pride guy,"Yeah Im on my own struggling to pay bills but at least Im not living in my parents house..."

Guy who doesnt want to struggle, "Well Im living in my parents house and the only bills I have are car note and student loans.... Dont stress about paying rent or whats for dinner every night..."

I'm only 23 and live at home with my parents. It's a three story house and the third floor only had one bedroom that was huge with a small side room, living room and bathroom kitchen. I just said f it and made the living room into another bedroom and now I got my own space. The other room my bro uses it.

I don't need no living room for now I just invite company in the room. It feels great living like this. I'm in the process of getting a better job so when I can start saving up some cash I'll be able to hook up my living space and help my parents out a little with the bills. No shame in my game.

Man, my 12 year jib is getting bought out, possible mass lay offs, I may have to go home to stack again

But being in NY, I'm not moving into some $900 basement just to have my own place. It will be either fly like the one I have now (for a good discounted price) or not at all

Damn breh, unless you're just flat out taking care of your moms and she can't support herself w/o you, you may as well move out.

I pay a little over $400/mo and have my own 1br.

Not everyone that moves out struggles, but I get what you're saying. Some people need to have a fire lit under them tho. I mean I look at my parents, they did very well and that's the example I follow. My dad told me time and time again how it's not easy in the world but experience is the best teacher. I just know that based on the example I had other friends and family around that are doing well, I chose to step out. I will say this though, here in alabama, the cost of living is ridiculously low, a 2500 sq ft home is easily obtainable for around 1300 a month. I had a 1300 sq ft apt for only 650 a month so it was easier in my instance. I know its much more expensive in other places so maybe it would take longer. The key really is just working toward something rather than being complacent.

Struggling is the only way to grow and develop a hustling spirit. If all your needs are continually met without you having to put any effort you wont evolve. You'll never think about ways to make more money on your own.

Some people just want to be taken care of for the rest of their lives. They just wanna sit back and get cool jobs and let someone else put food on their tables.

This mentality comes from Slavery I think and Its one of the main reasons why you rarely see black people with their own businesses.

The main positive about moving out younger is that you learn how to manage your money at a younger age. When you live with your parents all your money pretty much goes to stupid shyt.

That's a plan tho, and nobody can argue that logic and she came out ahead.

Apart from the fact in Britain there is a serious shortage of council housing and my mum bought a house on a road just outside London 10 years ago for 130000, today a house on the same road is 280000-300000 (for a modest 3 bedroom semi detached house), it's safe to say a generation is getting fukked.

I wasn't speaking on Britain's issues. only the US. y'all got one island to split up between tons of people.

I think Londons prices must be round the same as New York?

Same sort of problems, too many people with a housing shortage, with the older generation, they'd leave home at 18, get a council house/flat subsidised, while they saved to buy their own private home or they'd buy their council flat, (plus there was no recession).

There is no hope of doing this nowadays, I never even thought of getting a council flat (as I had no kids, I had no chance), had to go to straight private renting at extortionate prices.

Luckily, I have the deposit these data, but the banks are stingy on mortgages, so less people are selling up, so now I'm having trouble finding something I like.

It's a lot of factors and sometimes not a case of "I'm staying at my mums cos I like free food", for some people it's financially impossible with an average job and no council housing.
