My dad was a green beret who served in Vietnam.....he was also an ese from East LA.....he use to wet the belt before we would get it so the leather would tighten up....just because I use to get my ass beat doesnt mean I do the same to my children.....IMO that is a cop out and a bunch of bullshyt.....

It was a bad decision but he is a human being and every parent makes mistakes. It feel that a switch was too harsh for a 4 year old but at the end of the day, the courts agree to the plea deal. Also the boy's mother made a written statement that everybody just wants to move on. The NFL is just caving to public opinion right now and trying to express their personal beliefs onto the players.

So child abuse is a mistake now? If I take a switch outside and smack the shyt out of the first ADULT I see with it numerous times and it breaks the skin I'm catching an assault charge and if my job finds out there is a chance I will be suspended/fired...and that's an adult. I don't care if it was his child, that shyt was uncalled for.

As far as that letter, what you expect a woman to say when their possible meal ticket could be about to lose their job?

hey man - to each his own. I know when I got the belt that I deserved it. If my father had done it for little things then I might feel differently.

It's almost hilarious how of some you yall cats are defending a grown ass man (nfl football player with brute strength) beating a 30-40 lb 4 year old with a switch to the point of leaving visible bruises. :snoop:
bruh most of these people dont have children and talk out of their ass when it comes to shyt like this.....they will use the ol' "I got my ass beat like that so that's all I know"......that's a fukking cop out....

I get that you have to punish him. But can there be some clarity? What else are they waiting on to say THIS is how many games he'll miss. Whether it's the rest of the season, 8 games, 16 games, why leave it open ended like this?

The Vikings suspended him initially, not the NFL.
This is false...

Under the CBA the Vikings cannot suspend or deactivate AP for more than 4 weeks for conduct detrimental...The Vikings deactivated AP in week two (that counts as a game served because the deactivation was due to this legal matter) , then reactivated him in week three until the commisioners office approached the Vikings and the NFLPA about putting AP on the exempt list...AP and the NFLPA agreed to go on the exempt list until his legal matters are over with...The NFL broke that agreement by not removing him from the list and today suspended him because they know the judge is going to rule in APs favor for reinstatement...it was also reported by PFF today that there was also talk from an NFL exec about time served and the NFLPA has also mentioned this...

Once again the NFL has no legal leg to stand on here...This suspension (15 games for a misdemeanor) is clearly not in line with the CBA and is being appealed...AP can still play when the judge reinstates him later today or tomorrow if the vikings choose to activate him...

The D (where it's so cold)
Goodell's letter is sort of trolling (by that I mean it is misleading public opinion) in a way when it's says AP hasn't shown "no meaningful remorse". Because AP pleaded no contest and it was accepted he can't go out and proclaim his innocence now because he didn't proclaim he was innocent (or guilty) in court. The no contest plea prevents lawsuits (or in AP's case further punishment from the NFL) from other parties, but part of that agreement is you can't claim innocent when you had no defense for your being in court in the first place.

I'm not arguing about the actual act of disciplining your child. Really dont give a shyt how many times he whipped the lil nikka. Lil nikka will live. Scrapes heal breh. Anyways..

WTF is the point of agreeing to be on the exempt list then if the NFL is going to fukk you anyways? :dahell:

fukking stupid. Any of these dudes still on that shyt like Hardy needs to tell the NFL to fukk off and wait for goddamn due process or whatever. These motherfukkers are heavy handed as fukk and are about to get got by lawyers.
