Adam Sandler Response To Not Being Nominated At All

To say that all Sandler did the whole movie is scream is disingenuous, he gave a more nuanced performance than that. And I don't even really like Sandler like that, most of his movies are trash lol. But I'll recognize any actor if they do good work and he did that in Gems.

Not really getting the comparison to A Serious Man besides both being Jewish as fukk. I do like A Serious Man a lot though.

As far as the other stuff I mentioned, how are they not related? They all feature versions of the same character. As far as The Killing Joke goes, I never read it but I did read the wiki synopsis earlier today. THAT's the Joker they shoulda made with Joker torturing Gordon. That sounds like the Joker I wanna see instead of this juggalo ass Hot Topic movie we got.

And I'll be fair here, Jaoquin has his moments (he does do tortured characters well), but I just don't find dude menacing and cool. The Joker gotta be both IMO.

I really think either some of the people saying this never saw Punch Drunk Love, in which he acted far better and was a better movie than uncut gems.

Everyone isn't a cinephile. 99% of the movie going public knows Adam Sandler for awful comedies that he's either starred in or put out through his studio. For them to see this is something they couldn't have imagined coming from him.

Yeah thats cool, but Punch Drunk Love got him actual nominations from the golden globes and nominated at Cannes.
It was a big movie and he literally got the same praise he is getting now.
I can only guess some of you are too young to actually know what you are talking about.
On top of that, he again was in reign over me , which people said the exact same thing again.

So maybe you are just too young to be annoyed by people acting like his acting is something new, when it isnt/

You're the one who keeps bringing up age. The general public does not associate Sandler with good film. If you insist on being dense and acting like you're someone's who's studied cinema, I'll let you have it and place you on ignore.

I bring up age because its a cycle now, where people like yourself say the same thing about Sandler every 5 - 8 years, as if its something new.
Nothing I've said is critiquing cinema or acting like I studied cinema, I'm literally talking about media presentation of Sandler as if his ability to dramaticlly act is something new.

That's a part of why he's such a criminal mastermind, because he manipulates through his charm and it's how he pulls bad bytches like Harley. Maybe cool is kind of a blanket term and there's a better way to put it, but that certain idiosyncratic quality that the character is supposed to have has is sorely lacking in the Phoenix film.

Hard disagree. Ledger killed the role and was rightly praised for the performance. To each their own tho...
