The only problem I would have with Sandler getting a nod from his acting in Uncut Gems is that he’s seen characters like the one he played his entire life, wasn’t too much of a stretch even though he did a good job.

when I’m sitting thru a completely unnecessary scene of Adam Sandler jacking off in a closet. Or watching him watch a Celtics game play by play for what seemed like 10 minutes.

I also felt the movie spent an unneeded time trying to develop characters that weren’t interesting instead of just letting the plot flow.

the cinematography was incredible and I thought Sandler’s performance was great. The movie was solid I just didn’t enjoy it as much as others on here.

I thought instead of ~2.5 hours of runtime it could have been trimmed to like 2 hours tops.

Uncut Gems is regarded as the role of his career. If he sprinkled in movies like that in-between the awful comedy, his legacy would be different.

I really think either some of the people saying this never saw Punch Drunk Love, in which he acted far better and was a better movie than uncut gems.
