I mean if you can compare a generalized racist stereotype of someones outward appearance to incendiary political statements that someone personal makes when they're a face of a company that goes against what the organization stands for...

Stop being a prick.

She didn't make incendiary political statements you idiot. All she did was endorse a Republican political candidate.

Let me put it in a way that even a low information left winger like yourself can understand. Do you think it would be OK for a company to fire an employee who publically endorsed Hilary Clinton for president?

You have no respect for small business owners and the free market. Good day to you, Sir.

A republican candidate that was part of the Minutemen project, which was pretty much deemed an anti-hispanic hate group by the southern poverty law center...

We're not confused over the idea that conservatives try to frame illegal immigration as a law and order deal, in order to conceal your real objective in ginning up hatred for minorities: namely legal mexican citizens. You crazy b*stards passed the SB 1070 act in Arizona, which is without question the single most embarrassing piece of legislation I can remember in modern times. It was so flagrantly racist and incendiary, that most of the law was immediately struck down as unconstitutional once it was exposed to the supreme court.

And why do I get the sense that you werent nearly as animated when it came to defending Martin Bashir and his right to remain employed, like you are for this sell out Alonzo?

@Brown_Pride is a fairly sharp guy, so Im confused why he is conflating Alonzo's removal from the play, with comparisons to clear violations of federal anti-discrimination laws. A better analogy would be if a black man appeared in a commercial in support of the new black panthers party and their rhetoric, while currently being employed by a conservative leaning troupe that was putting on plays in the south
OK so admittedly i didn't read the whole OP post before i started responding to some of the support for the supposed firing. Ultimately no i'm not trying to be a prick but more concerned with the support of firing someone for their political views and support. While i don't particularly like the tea party I don't care that someone else does, and more to the point I respect their right to support whomever they damn well please.

So GENUINELY I'm not trying to play devils advocate or act silly or prick-like, i'm just saying it's dangerous grounds to start supporting the firing of people for political views. As for the better analogy it definitely is only I'd change this piece

would we be ok with supporting Kroger's right to fire said black man?

Martin Bashir didn't get fired for giving a political opinion. He got fired for going on a serious news broadcast and saying someone should take a shyt in the mouth of Sarah Palin. Do you honestly not understand the difference between the two?

But anyways, do you think it would be OK for a business to force someone to quit because they had endorsed Hilary Clinton? Is that really the country we want to live in where someone's employment depends on what political party they support?

Seriously man, you need to accept the fact that America is a very diverse country and that people have many different viewpoints. You need to learn to be more tolerant of our differences and not want to punish people just because they think differently.

while it sucks that shorty lost her job, she should've had some idea that expressing a viewpoint that contradicts that of her core audience and supporters would be a terrible economic move, especially on such a hot button issue as illegal immigration and your supporters are nearly all latino. no right-wing matryr to be found here, just a shytty businesswoman.

That was his political opinion Einstein.

At-will employment....your kind supports this

Some private industries will encourage it, some will discourage it. The American way. Just be glad the government can't persecute you because of it :manny:

Freedom of Speech (But Watch What You Say)

Any way she should have known that the backlash from the Latino community would be huge if she backed this weird racist wacko. While ideally you shouldn't lose your job because of something you say, it happens all the time,
