Nah. Have no clue who they are. Never heard of the tariq cat until the article. Have they stopped working their jobs?
Tariq is an a$$hole.

If he's one of the activists asking for this, then shyt on him all day.

You can't set such a thing up without cooperation of the police. And they has shown historically that they are totally unwilling to permit independent review.

Aren't the police under the purview of the mayor? I'm not really sure how municipalities work but if the Cleveland City Council/Mayor ordered them to participate wouldn't they be obliged to?

My thing is why single out Bron? If they singled out Cleveland sports teams I would be a little more receptive.
All in all at this point we have to realize just protesting will get us nowhere...dog chasing tail status
i agree. Him sitting out games is not going to stop police brutality. They're better off just asking him to donate a couple game checks to the cause and to wear a t shirt. Quit expecting these people on tv to be heroes, if they buck up against the system they will lose their careers and then they won't be in a position to have that worldwide influence that people want to tap into. People have to find real practical ways to get celebrities to help. Set up a real charity that is ACTUALLY DOING SOMETHING besides walking around with banners begging for attention and these people will give money on the low if they actually care.

Those same people need to do what they're asking him, go take a few days off your job and tell them its to support tamir rice and see how real it gets

Hmmm. I don't understand why it should be all on Lebron though. If black people took the eye for eye trait instead of that protesting bullshyt and following preachers than there would be a difference. Violence is pretty much the answer for change. No not tearing up your own neighborhoods to get free goods.

You saw what happened in NY. After the Garner situation. Black dude went up there and popped off a couple of cops. Then they were on that :whoa: Lets stop approaching cats for misdemeanor crimes and stop and frisk.

I don't think LeBron should follow through with that bullshyt, but :dahell: you don't see the difference between LeBron power and a Mcdonald worker :dead:

LeBron is getting paid just like the McDonald's worker.......by a white man (jew). This n***a ain't gonna combat the powers that be and the hand that feeds him. He's enjoyed elite status in his life being an entertainer for the NBA. He isn't in a black owned league for a reason. He's been willing to speak up on other situations (albeit a little cautiously) so he's not totally removed consciously, but he knows his boundaries :francis:

Imo if black public celebrities wanna support "the cause" from some vantage point, it should be a monetary one, especially while they're still active and playing "the game".

Actually, that would be a very dope social campaing for Bron to undertake. Use his old "We are all witnesses" tagline over a collage of photos of blacks unjustly murdered by law enforcement alongside a photo of him looking pensive or concerned. Would be powerful. Would also never, ever happen.
This.
But like you said, will never happen. Which is beyond sad.

OK
Don't have a problem with him deciding not to sit, but to say he needs more information?:francis:

Didn't Lebron make some comments earlier this year referencing the Tamir Rice incident?:patrice:

This is what happens when one gives attention to other injustices, they want to make you into a freedom fighter without your permission. Once he donned that hood for Trayvon (which I thought was Lebron being an "of the moment" attention seeker), I knew he made a mistake. It's unfair to him, however, this is why he needs to stop straddling the line of serious social issues/injustices. Btw, those who are calling him out to sit are wrong and it'll prove nothing.

:ehh:
