Ultimately you can never demand someone to do something you won't do. You can't place all risk and responsibility on LeBron James shoulders. He doesn't have the kind of power to compel what they are trying to do. If the entire Cavs team forfeited games and that economic impact doesn't reach downtown Cleveland at all? Now we're talking. When the Missouri black players threatened not to play, Missouri football was placed at risk of being kicked out of the SEC and probable cancelled games. When one person organized that hunger strike at missouri, the powers that be said fukk his hunger. One of two things must happen to achieve their objectives. Behind door #1 is viewing this as a local issue, working with those IN Ohio, and recruiting the right candidates to run for mayor, city council, prosecutor. Then you would get Lebron James to throw his name behind those candidates. Hard work. Ground work. Takes time. Behind door #2 would be to appeal to the man black america dares not criticize that's in the white house, and hold his feet to the fire to answer questions, and do more than create task forces.

It's unfair to ask this of Lebron, and it won't make a damn difference. It will get great media attention but they are not reversing the decision. Ohio people will turn on Bron before turning on police.

seems like some passive aggressive bullying to get lebron to do their bidding. might even come off like a veiled threat if he doesn't sit out he's not "down for the cause" and people will turn on him. personally i think it's bs to try and put this on him. lebron and many athletes give back and contribute to their communities in ways people don't always appreciate. scholarships, mentoring, donations, etc...

"activists" in here talking bout lebron should sacrifice his time, money and brand for the cause and y'all can't even donate $5 to thecoli...:francis:

This my friends is the type of reckless talk that goes on in the coli:snoop:

lol this is just another reason for cats to take a shot at Bron

which again shows you why sitting out would be a bad idea....

the same people who are calling him a fraud for not boycotting would be the same people shouting with glee when he faced sanctions and public backlash

motherfukkers think they so slick lol

Agreed.

We need to be more tactical. It's bigger than one damn player.

Lebron actually speaks out on social issues, which is more than you can say for a lot of these athletes.

I notice that the Cleveland mayor is a democrat...probably got most of the black vote.

Why don't we as a community refuse to vote for his ass next time? We'll see how quickly his ass comes back and starts supporting us.

now that im thinking about it, he really could sit out one game if he wanted to tho :patrice:

he does it for the fukk of it, for rest. he could make a statement like 'im sitting out one game to protest because this was bullshyt'. thatd get a ton of attention/not really fukk with his season like that. would be national news, cleveland government would be like
That's not what's been suggested, though. The social media post called for Lebron to sit out indefinitely, until it somehow causes the Federal Department of Justice to throw the cops in jail.

Sitting out one game would garner some attention, but it certainly wouldnt cause the result that the social media post had in mind (which is impossible) and Im almost certain that it would provoke more negative response than good. Racists and tea party types would be mad about it the same as if he sat out indefinitely, and even supporters would have a good amount of critics saying it wasnt enough, wow one game and back to work just like that, gave up quick, he just wanted a game off and used this for attention because it didnt do anything, etc.

It's really a no-win situation for him.
