These types of conversations are not supposed to be made public. But to the reality of the situation, Black people will have more political power in the next 20 years because we are starting to vote a lot more in frequency compared to other ethnicities. We should be supporting immigration just because it adds more voters to the pool that would dilute the white voting block substantially. And since the population is changing to a "Majority-Minority" population it would make sense to start working together. But, I suspect the rules will be changed for Latinos pretty soon....more voter ID law bullshyt. Whether people realize it or not, America in the next 10 years is going to be a place of great change. Let the struggle begin.
that is all based on a mistaken and misguided premise that politics is the solution, i would disagree with that premise, black people's problem are fundamentally cultural and more related to economics than lack of political power
that can be see by the fact that in places where black people have political power and dominate the plight of black people is basically the same
political power is good but it isnt the key to progress
secondly if anybody wants to see what happens to black political power when a place is flooded by asian and hispanic immigrants all you have to do is look at california, where there is no evidence of any increase in black political power or less racism toward blacks compared to other parts, in fact in CA black people find themselves in the odd position of siding with whites in many things
thirdly even the most optimistic view of immigration admits that increased immigration will hurt lower class black with little education, but apparently this is a side issue compared to all the supposed political power a flood of immigrants will bring to politicians and how these politicians will help black people so much
fourthly, this point isnt related to black people necessarily, but its ironic that the political side clamoring the most about inequality and corporate greed, thinks its a good idea to bring in a flood of low educated workers so that corporations can increase their profits by paying everyone less, the incestuous relationship between corporate america and liberals when it comes to immigration is a pretty disgusting thing to watch and its evidence that the whole push to open the floodgates is a bunch of bullshyt
i think this acorn lady and many liberals mean well but black people need to separate themselves from a lot of them, an ideology that is focused on spreading wealth cannot teach you how to create wealth
