Has he finally given up on trying to fight at WW?? Hope so

I hope he has too. Only thing he has coming there is more losses:yeshrug:

He already snuck a Welterweight Championship, so that mission is completed. He should leave that alone and focus on Lightweight & Junior Welterweight only from this point on.

Khabib Expects Toughest Career Bout With Adrien Broner

Posted by: Gregory Stangrit on 9/3/2015 .

By Gregory Stangrit

Former champion Khabib Allakhverdiev (19-1, 9KOs) continues to work in Moscow, Russia on strategy with former four division world champion Roy Jones Jr., who is training the Russian fighter for his scheduled fight on the 3rd of October with former three division world champion Adrien Broner (30-2, 22KOs).

The Showtime televised fight takes place in Broner's backyard of Cincinnati, Ohio and the vacant WBA 'regular' junior welterweight title will be at stake.

Khabib sees it as the toughest fight of his entire professional career, but hopes to get the victory and reclaim the belt that he believes he was robbed of when he lost a disputed decision to Jessie Vargas last year on the Manny Pacquiao-Timothy Bradley undercard.

"I have a very dangerous opponent in front of me. More than likely, on October 3, I'm going to have the hardest fight of my career. I will do my best to prepare very well for this fight. Right now we are focusing on movement in the ring, closing the distance and blocking his ability to press. Broner is not making any provocations in my direction, but if he does I will try not to react. Everything will be proven in the fight," Khabib said.

Roy Jones Works With Chudinov, Allakhverdiev In Russia

Posted by: Jake Donovan on 9/3/2015 .

By Jake Donovan

In his continued quest for dual citizenship, Roy Jones Jr. has taken to his extended time spent in Russia.

Having already frequented the historic nation in year’s past, the former four-division world champion has set up camp in Russia. The move was made in efforts to further his music career (where he has a huge following) and also training top talents Fedor Chudinov and Khabib Allakhverdiev, while at the same time preparing for his own upcoming fight.

Both boxers have fights one week apart and on the road, as does Jones. First up for the future Hall-of-Famer is his latest stay-busy fight, when he faces Tony Moran on September 12 in Liverpool, England, marking his first-ever pro fight on U.K. soil.

Two weeks later, Chudinov (13-0, 10KOs) makes the first defense of his secondary super middleweight title, facing Frank Buglioni on September 26 in London, England. The following weekend, Allakhverdiev also ventures into an opponent’s hometown, as he faces Adrien Broner in their Showtime-televised super lightweight title fight October 3 in Cincinnati.

Jones hopes to be live at ringside for both fights.

“I’m here training Khabib and Fedor,” Jones informed the local media on hand during Thursday’s press conference at the Round Lake training base. “I hope I can work Fedor’s corner on September 26 in London and for Khabib on October 3 in the U.S.

“Khabib has a dangerous opponent in Adrien Broner, but I’m confident Khabib can beat him with movement and pressure. We are putting emphasis (on both areas) in training.”

For what it’s worth, both fighters seem content thus far with the service he has provided.

“I’m very pleased with the collection (of talent) at camp in Round Lake,” Chudinov said. “Roy Jones is working with my trainer Artur Pidurieyym in preparation for my title fight with Buglioni. I don’t believe he’s an opponent I can overlook, and am taking this fight very serious.

“I am confident that with Roy Jones’ help, I will be in the best shape of my life for this fight. After just a few workouts under his tutelage, we have already corrected some things. We will continue to work in this manner.”

Allakhverdiev echoed such sentiments in preparation for his second world title run.

“I hope that the tips Roy will help me in the ring,” noted Allakhverdiev (19-1, 9KOs), who hasn’t fought since conceding his 140 lb. title to Jessie Vargas last April in Las Vegas. “I have a very dangerous opponent in Broner, but I plan to give him the hardest fight of his career on October 3.

“I’ve prepared well for this fight. Now we are focusing on ring moving, closing the distance and applying pressure. With regards to Broner trying to provoke me beforehand, we will prove to him (who is the better man) during our fight.”
