Rodgers played a cleaner game than Brady, but if you saw that game they played to a draw. Brady had the biggest plays, multiple of them, easily. The picks is what draws it back to a draw, otherwise we'd be talking about how badly Rodgers was outplayed...
I can't see how watching the game anybody says Rodgers outplayed Brady more than minimally at best...
So that said, nothing that transpired in this game coulda changed how I compare the two. Rodgers coulda went and threw 7 TDs and GD won 55-3 and it wouldn't have changed shyt. Brady has a 20-year career of evidence of who he is. They arent even close to being in the same conversation...
He wasn't livid, though. There are guys who woulda waved the FG team off and argued coach down, and the thing is, in principle going for the FG wasn't a terrible decision, its only being psychoanalyzed because they lost the game...
But going for the FG instead of the TD isn't what lost them the game....because if you go for it on 4th there before 2 minutes and miss anyway, we'd be shytting on them for not taking the points. That ain't what lost them the game. The second half penalty fest, the inability to capitalize on three straight takeaways, the pick before half, the fumble right after half, they certainly didn't lose because of a decision to kick a field goal before 2m warning with all your timeouts left...
I said this first probably close to two years ago, but the forcing of Mahomes into elevated conversation is reminiscent of the forcing of Rodgers. Rodgers is on the short list of GOAT quarterbacks, but he isn't Rushmore or Top 5 status. NFL media and stans been forcing this "Rodgers as GOAT" conversation since the 2011 MVP year with only 4 years in the game, its ridiculous...
