we've already seen high-scoring backcourts in the recent past. they dont win anything.

is enough defense. Beal was a good defender when Wall was the number 1 in Washington. When a player’s offensive burden goes up, their defensive responsibility (and energy) goes down. Beal isn’t just a volume scorer, he’s shooter and playmaker as well.
But let’s disregard everything I said. Dame + Cj and bums made the WCF, Yet two superior players in Steph and Beal (with better coaching and supporting players) would be the core of a treadmill team

He's a very good defender, the problem is, he's been on a team where he's had to carry a heavy offensive workload, constantly surrounded by below-average defenders, all within a losing culture. He's routinely near the top of distance traveled on defense:
2021: #4 in miles on defense
2020: #4 in miles on defense
2019:: #1 in miles on defense
Now, granted, that in itself doesn't make him a good defender, but it shows that he's willing to exhaust himself on both ends, which in a better environment, with a better defensive system and personnel should translate into him being a net-positive on that end of the floor. Keep in mind, it wasn't too long ago that he and Wall were noted as one of the best defensive backcourts in the league.

that’s just a potential list of players in our price range. We can easily get 3 of them.
Regarding Klay, he won’t be back until Jan 2022 at the earliest, not to mention the minutes restriction he’ll be on to start.. so yes klay’s coming off the bench until he can work up a lather.
For JTA, he’ll continue to play the 4 because he does it well in our small lineups

Currys 6th best player he has ever played with would be beals 2nd.
