This is the problem with people thinking the warriors were a small ball team. They think they'll play 3 guard rotations like the Rockets:mjlol:

Warriors since 2015 have always had a starting SF who's at least 6'8:gucci:

I love Klay but he ain't guarding no damn LeBron and KD, especially not off an injury:stopitslime:

Kelly Obre is not either lol

Has Lacob or Meyers spoken on their willingness or limit to paying the luxury tax yet:patrice: if the cap stays flat at 109 million and the luxury tax stays at 132 million thats going to really fukk over teams like the Warrior the Rockets and Sixers ...this team is going to be at least 50 to even 85+ million over the tax with all the extra penalties they'll be due to pay...might be one of those 250 million dollar rosters if they use their MMLE and grab some vets even on the minimum ...

Im sure this is playing a part in their reported reluctance on using that 17million trade exception but I wonder if it'll also play a factor in who they ultimately come out ofnthis draft with because that #2 pick is owed something like 8.5 million just in their first year ...wonder if they value using their already cap compromised financial resources on a center like Wiseman or Onyeka considering how bad they need wing and guard depth ..very interesting to see how their calculus on these decisions play out :whoo:

The more i think about it ...the Warriors should probably just draft this kid and hold him hostage even if they don't intend to keep him ... He seems to be generating the most positive buzz among these kinds of reports ... now that may mean nothing among GM's but he does seem like a solid floor low bust relatively solid potential kid that I could easily see a team latter in the lottery willing to make some sort of deal for..especially in a draft where nobody seems certain about these players ceilings ...even if its not a great deal or a blow you away deal it almost makes too much sense for the Warriors to take him especially if the rumors about Charlotte liking him are real... might as well pull that trigger and just force them or another team to send you some assets to get him instead of him letting him slide to a team as a value pick

That's how I feel. If you'd rather draft further down then try to make multiple moves to get the most assets you can out of this kid:yeshrug:.

Maybe slide down to 3, flip 3 to a team that wants Melo and pick up some depth and pick whoever's still there on your draft board.

I'd rather this method then drafting one of those wings at the top of the draft:hhh:

Thats that "light years ahead" stuff that this franchise talks about ..And if you're peeping they're kinda setting themselves up to do this tactic...I mean they're been "in love" or simultaneously "hating" damn near consensus top 10 guy out there ... so their bluff game could be strong because no one really knows who they like or what their strategy is because they're in such a unique situation as opposed to most teams picking 2

To me its obvious that they more than likely aren't trading this pick for another star because the money situation is just too tricky with the warriors... so they'll probably be stuck with Wiggins which isn't terrible but to fill out the roster with better fit rookies they'll do themselves a great service to leverage teams falling in love with certain prospects like Wiseman and Melo to move down the board in increments until they're in a comfortable enough range to draft a guy that they project as a quality contributor like a Vassell or Toppin or Haliburton etc that they wouldn't want to take or pay a #2 pick salary to... that makes a lot of sense actually because they are going to have to figure out how to feel out this roster with quality players but on a real budget imo
