This whole Wiseman situation is full of revisionist history .

1.Lamelo Ball would ABSOLUTELY been a better selection.Whether it’s from a pure basketball standpoint or just accumulating value. It’s ridiculous to say otherwise.

2. It wasn’t just only a Wiseman vs Ball thing . People were saying GSW should trade down and take a Haliburton,Vassell ,Okoro or Avidja along with getting a veteran that could give them an instant impact .

3.Yes you need a big to win but unless you’re getting Jokic or Embiid taking one at 2 in a good draft is wild ..especially when you have doubts about his ability to spread the floor

They weren’t getting equal value for the #2 pick as it wasn’t considered to be a good draft at the time. Even Minny wanted to move down, but couldn’t.

That’s true at the time it wasn’t looking like a strong draft but that may be the reason why moving down and collecting an extra asset would’ve been been the move . You can’t expect typical #2 value in a perceived down year . Looking back it would’ve been the right move to drop down even for less than normal ...or just take Ball

You weren’t going to get assets or a player of equal value though. If that was the case, then Minnesota would have moved down. People are having revisionist history and overlooking the fact that all of the top players in this draft had legit question marks at the time. Even Melo himself. There was a consensus #1 pick in the draft for a reason.

This upcoming draft is so much better than the one last year. So if the Minny pick conveys, then package it with Wiseman and their own picks to get a difference maker who fits their timeline. Wiseman, Melo and even the guys in their draft just don’t fit their current championship aspirations.

Now personally, I think their window is closed regardless of who they bring in, but they seem to think otherwise.

This is like VERY delusional ... the team has a worse winning percentage than those very Houston Rockets when their all time great HOF PG doesn't play ..yet.. miraculously ... in your brain you read that as "wow, this team is talent rich!" ... like I said ..just baffling takes ... the fact that after watching the discombobulation of Wiseman all year and the general ineffectiveness of 19 year old rookies on winning you're still brazenly touting the teams ability to find more talent with their TWO lotto picks (which isn't even a fact) is again ... mind bending

When their HOF PG can't play, it really doesn't matter who they have. They ain't winning anything. If this team's as bad as you think it is, they won't make the playoffs, right? That;s 1 pick. The other pick is a guaranteed lotto pick. The only question is whether it will convey this year or next year (I'm believing it will be the former), but that's two lottery picks.

Orrr... you could simply bench the inferior player in Wiggins and use those TWO!!! lotto picks to sure up the remaining holes on your team like a sane rationale individual would ... and instead of blowing their 17 million dollar TPE on Oubre they could have used that on one of your sacred Centers ...I know ... I know

:ohhh::ohhh::ohhh:

Crazy huh..

Crazy, yes, because they won't do that. You know that. You know they're not benching a $30 mil a year player. Pointless to suggest it (and in theory, I wouldn't have even acquired Wiggins, but they did what they did)

This is a rather irrelevant question considering

1.we're talking about who would have MORE trade value between he and Wiseman in your hypothetical fictitious scenario becauseeeee .......................

2. THEY WOULDN'T TRADE HIM... but trip this.. I can guarantee you one player LaMelo could easily fetch in a trade this very instant (James Wiseman) cant say the same the other way tho :mjlol:
FOR WHO? Without a target, it doesn't matter what their trade value is at the moment. If a star becomes available, most already believe Wiseman + Sonics pick already gives them a great starting point for one. If you're trading Ball, give me a name or two that you're thinking of because without that, you're not trading anyone (and without one, bringing up their trade values is pointless)

No... a massive WASTE of an asset is ignoring the more talented / skilled player over someone you perceive to be a better "fit" ... thats called a miscalculation and thats how you end up in these silly situations... if the Warriors could do it all over again I doubt very seriously that they wouldn't 100/100 times take Ball (as we can all clearly read what Steve Kerr is intimating in his latest quotes) ... why you're even pretending anything otherwise is the trumpian instinct that i mentioned earlier... you should shake that brother ... I can promise you its not virtuous at all

and they'd be in the same situation they're in now only with their hopes for any sort of promising big reduced to hoping Mobley's there at 4 or 5 this summer.

That would be correct .... It's hilarious seeing these gullible nikkas regurgitate Warriors PR spin that a #2 overall draft pick was in fact actually "untradeable" :russ: they actually believe that shyt lol

Report: Warriors tried trading No. 2 pick for All-NBA player

Even in the reporting you see how the Warriors overvalued that pick and why they didn't choose to move off of it ... they were trying to trade it for a "star" and if they couldn't get that return they were perfectly content with keeping whoever they selected because they thought that player was going to blossom into a star in the future...that was their calculation ... these fabrications about how the team was basically handcuffed and forced to draft wiseman because nobody wanted the pick is pure fiction as we see here

Report: Warriors offered 'interesting packages' to trade down

The Warriors weren't forced into keeping their pick ...they chose to ...revisionist history must stop

And Lamelo would’ve been on the bench. He’s not the type of player that Kerr knows how to utilize. Kerr can’t coach which has been the problem all along. Until that changes, it’s over.
This

I am willing to admit that I might have been wrong in choosing Wiseman > Ball. But it isnt all on him. Its obvious Kerr doesnt know how to use him and that the staff isnt developing him properly yet

i personally have seen flashes on offense...but defensively he leaves a lot to be desired

1. Steph Curry can't play 48 minutes and take every shot of course it matters who the warriors have available in his on court absence... like what are you even talking about here brother :gucci:

2. If they had Ball they would have MORE talent ... did you already forget the point of this conversation that quickly?

3. Curry's presence clearly elevates them into playoff contention .. if they win their play in games on his back (plausible) and the Minny pick stays in the top 3 (also very plausible) thats will be 0 lottery picks going their way this offseason

No "I don't know that" what "I don't know" is what in your brain leads you to think that they wouldn't without any hesitation... They benched Iggy ...they benched David Lee when he was their highest paid player because Draymond was clearly the better fit on court but in your brain they wouldn't dare to bench Andrew Wiggins because he has a bad contract?? lol what the fukk are you talking about ... if any team has shown the willingness to make the correct on court basketball move its the Warriors the fact that you actually believe otherwise is again quite honestly hilariously counter factual based on their own proven track record ... It sounds like you simply just didn't think that far in your bizarro world hypothetical and now you're caught flat footed here brother

there is no "who" the point was simply that even if you had to move him it would be for more than what wiseman could fetch .. you're literally the only one suggesting they would have an existential crisis that would force Ball to be moved if they would have drafted him (which obviously is nonsense) ..while ironically in real time the warriors coach is actually in the media being quoted hinting at them needing to get rid of wiseman :mjlol:

But aye ..check it out tho bruh we gone do it like this since you seem to either have some sort of trumpian learning disability or you're simply playing intentionally obtuse for the internet and I don't have the time for that.. but since you think this was the right move we gone just end this right here and i'm going to propose this scenario to gauge for all

- simple question/excluding injuries -

  • If Golden State calls Charlotte (who desperately needs a Center) right now and offers James Wiseman for LaMelo Ball straight up would Charlotte accept the deal??

- conversely -

  • If Charlotte Calls Golden State right now and offered LaMelo Ball for James Wiseman straight up would GSW accept the deal??

That's the logic that led to signing Willie Cauley-Stein, Cousins, Spellman, Chriss, drafting Bell, Smailagic and Looney. Long view, the good teams aren't adding filler alongside their other big unless that big is elite, and these contenders have bigs that Golden State can't neutralize (now Wiseman hasn't done a good job of that year, but Golden State's title aspirations went out the window when Klay got hurt).

I'll give you an example of someone who had no clue what he was doing year 1 and by year 2, it clicked: Domantas Sabonis (not saying Sabonis is a comp player-wise), but year 1, Sabonis alongside better players had a 6.9 PER, started most of the games, couldn't shoot, couldn't rebound. Wiseman's WS/48 is .039 (awful). Sabonis was .022 (meaning the team was damn near better off with him not being there at all). Now he got traded. You know what his WS/48 was by year 2 with an extra 4 minutes of PT? .126. If and when Wiseman figures it out, it makes the Warriors hard to beat inside and out which is what they're aiming to do. Unless KD's coming back, the way y'all won isn't gonna be sustainable with Green by himself in the frontcourt.

Youre exactly right.. i keep hearing that the Warriors need to draft to fit in Currys timeline, but really they need to be able to draft the future.

When Klay comes back, the goal would be to be in the top half of the west, then theh have a shot. They need to fill out the bench.

But they also need to have guys that will be hitting their prime as Curry, Klay and Dray are finishing their careers. If they don't, then we will have to deal with 2 or 3 years of bottom dwelling after Curry is done, which could be very detrimental. Now you're rebuilding with no link to that culture.

The t-wolves no longer have the worst record... unless they tank (pull KAT, D’slow, Ant) for the 40% chance of keeping their pick, it’s likely they move to 5th worst record behind the rockets, pistons, magic, and thunder.

This would make it likely we only get the 6th or 7th pick, not to mention the 30% chance they keep their pick:gag:

What’s worse is there’s a scenario where we move up to the Mavericks spot at 7th and lose our own pick :picard:

You’re ignoring that Lamelo is at his best in a system that Kerr refuses to use: the pick and roll. Lamelo isn’t a catch and shoot player, he needs the ball in his hand in order to set guys up and make plays. Lamelo wouldn’t be ROY if he was on the Warriors.

Is he a bigger star and more talented than Wiseman? Absolutely. But he wouldn’t be making the Warriors better if he was on the roster right now because of the coaching.

You're giving me "ifs". What do YOU think is gonna happen with those selections? We're not gonna know til lottery night. I'm telling you in regards to the other pick that I think it's gonna convey this season (in the event that it doesn't, it's a guaranteed lottery pick the following year. Either way they have a lottery pick in hand)

No "I don't know that" what "I don't know" is what in your brain leads you to think that they wouldn't without any hesitation... None of them made what Wiggins makes a year (Wiggins is younger and makes damn near twice as much as what a 31 year old Iggy was making, harder to justify it when they're capped the hell out). They have a very different opinion of Wiggins than what you or I have of him. They clearly don't view him as some sort of super sub.
there is no "who" the point was simply that even if you had to move him it would be for more than what wiseman could fetch .. you're literally the only one suggesting they would have an existential crisis that would force Ball to be moved if they would have drafted him (which obviously is nonsense) ..while ironically in real time the warriors coach is actually in the media being quoted hinting at them needing to get rid of wiseman :mjlol:

Which is what? Without that, it's a pointless argument. They're not moving Wiseman and they'd still have this gaping hole in the front court now and in the future unless they go back to what they were doing before, which is trying to plug anyone there and seeing if it will work. It won't. Not with the way the league is trending.

and here come the insults. If you're frustrated, say you're frustrated, but up to now I've been fairly cordial with you simply talking basketball about this. Don't fukk this up. Just agree to disagree and keep it movin. Why is this difficult for you? Not difficult for anyone else here and we've discussed this issue plenty.

have a good day my nikka :mjlol:

No. They have a gold mine of a pick coming and I don't think they wanna reduce their options to hoping Evan Mobley is there or even having to go back to the bargain bin and hope random big man will be enough to beat teams like the Lakers
