BU-BU-BUT PLAY WISEMAN MORE MINUTES!

:damn:

I wanna slap so many of y'all nxggas in this thread for arguing with me over the last year about this shyt. Drafting Wiseman may have just single-handedly killed off any chance this core has at competing for a title ever again.

This shyt shouldn't even be remotely possible; no player should have this much of a negative impact on the floor. One of the most impactful players in the history of the game has his entire influence/impact wiped out by Wiseman.

This is far worse than I ever imagined the worst-case scenario would be drafting him.

Overreactions. What do you expect in a salary cap sport. Our 2nd best player is out.

With no real cap space :yeshrug:. They just have to try their best with the young guys they got

Also people doubting Kerr's system are casuals

what young players do you think he's failed to develop, and how?

i see this point very often on warriors twitter, but not the examples of where he's gone wrong.
All the young players. His unwillingness to change up his offense based on the personnel is my biggest complaint. You could argue Myers hasn’t given drafted him any good young players but I also think the way he coaches isn’t conducive to player development.

guess this is about Wiseman, because Jordan Bell/Jacob Evans/Patrick McCaw aren't in any rotations post GSW. Idk if they're even in the NBA anymore. Poole is better after his G League stint. Paschall isn't good, may go the route of Bell/Evans/McCaw.

I'm not sure what Kerr can do to change the offense that would solve the core problems of the roster. You don't see good P&R offenses in the modern NBA with bad spacing, or a center that sets soft screens and has no idea what he's doing 95% of the time. I think Wiseman is just bad right now, beyond his struggles to fit into a system, and his improvement over the years will be slow and gradual.

if you get impatient because Steph is 34, well thats what GSW signed up for when they drafted a project at center. so gotta wait or trade.

I’m not impatient at all. I’ve fully accepted the run is over. With how everything is going I’m looking to a future without Steph (as sad as that is). And in this future I’m not sure if Kerr is the right coach. Like I said Kerr is a good coach when he has the talent. That’s no knock either cuz a lot coaches have talented teams that have never one a championship. But over the past 2 seasons I’m not sure he’s the right coach for a young roster.

The Warriors don't have a young roster though.

The only young players are Wiseman, Poole and Mannion.

As it's been mentioned, Poole is better after being in the G-League and has shown a lot of strides, particularly as a shooter. Who knows if Mannion will even be in the league in a couple of years time. So, essentially, this all comes back to Wiseman, does it not? Kerr really hasn't had the chance to develop any noteworthy talent to say whether or not he can or I can't. And I mean, if these young players can't get better under the tutelage of Steph and Draymond, then it's probably less to do with coaching or the players already established in the system, and more about the young players simply not being good enough.

There's nobody better to learn defense from than Draymond, and yet Wiseman is a lost cause on that end.

You got to put this into perspective too.

If they didn't draft Wiseman, and traded that pick for depth (not even getting a star player in return), and filled out the rest of the roster with vets, this team would have one of the best records in the league, and Kerr's coaching (or lack thereof, as some of y'all perceive) wouldn't even be a talking point.

Friedell was on Lowe's podcast and they talked for a while about how Draymond's killing their offense and spacing. Adding Wiseman and Looney next to Draymond makes it even worse so it makes running a bunch of Steph pick and rolls difficult because nobody respects Draymond enough to stick by him. They have to explore trading him in the summer. Steph needs more firepower around him. He's already turning water into wine but they're doing him a tremendous disservice.

They also talked about Kerr saying he wasn't chasing wins this season (and his refusal to play Steph more in close games in the 4th) plus Draymond saying he wasn't motivated by the 7-10 play-in games and the effect that could have on the young guys on the roster.

Oubre is 25, Wiggins is 26, Paschall is 24, Looney is 24.

Oubre and Wiggins are both well past the point of development; both players have been in the league for nearly a decade. Paschall is a one-dimensional bum and Looney is never going to amount to anything because his body is made of glass.

The Warriors don't have a young team, in this context as it pertains to development.
