Let’s say the video is real, I’m not surprised they don’t know the black artists music. It’s just a symptom of how we don’t treasure our culture.

CACs make sure their kids know The Beatles, Rolling Stones etc and they’re always held in high reverence. Once our artists music is over 20/30 years old, we discard it and move onto the next one.

Look at how our hip hop legends are treated compare to rock ones. Metallica, AC/DC and their ilk will still sell out stadiums, old and young. Can’t say the same for rap. And if it does, it’s mostly CACs. :francis:

Sounds like Gen X and Millennials just dropped the ball as parents to me. Because my Boomer parents made sure I knew the classic R&B, jazz legends from the 60s, 70s and 80s.

I think we should also take into consideration that music was to the boomer generation, what social media/gaming is to us. That was their entertainment BUT something tangible to pass down.

I didn’t have a choice. My parents had all the Motown/Stax records. My older siblings had all the 80s records. And my cousins had all late 80s/early 90s HipHop so there could be no gap in my music knowledge.

But most importantly, I had tangible history in my hands. Hard to pass down digital music.

I think the real question to ask is: Does Gen Z know anything about anything? Their test scores are abhorrent. This is what sitting around on Tik Tok all day looks like. Just consuming nonstop fukkery :mjlol:
:whoa: you gonna be called a boomer for expecting kids to know shyt outside of their sphere. better chill brodie :heh:

the majority of these kids are dumb asf and cannot be trusted to do the most menial tasks. but if you say anything about it, you're a boomer, :flabbynsick:, a lame, a hater, etc. and the schools get paid to pass them; kids have to try to fail or dropout in order to not graduate

Let some idiot try to call me a "boomer" Lmao. I'm far from it. The difference between me and Gen Z is that while I like fukkery, I like it in doses and I also like to read, I also like to learn, especially about shyt that can make me $$

Many don't seem to want to advance beyond the fukkery.
