If a man wants to have sexual relation with stripper that is his business. However Dr Umar has placed himself in a position of leadership. We as blacks should hold our leaders , especially self proclaimed ones to the highest of standard. We as a people deserve no less. And when we don't hold our leaders accountable we undermine ourselves and our struggle for dignity and freedom.
The fact that Dr Umar engages in this kind of behavior speaks volumes of his character.

If MLK Jr was doing that shyt when he was a fledgeling minister before the Montgomery bus boycott and before the founding of the SCLC and it became public knowledge before he had a chance to actually achieve anything, what happens to the civil rights movement?

Exactly....The brothers and sisters that are really doing things to help black folks are always ignored. People do not realize that there are many brothers and sisters out there helping black people. They may not speak about consciousness all the time, but they are pushing our brothers and sisters to do better.Also as a Nigerian I always wonder why all of the African American conscious folks always talk about eastern African belief's and religions. Also why do they always use Arabic names or use Arabic practices? The fact of the matter is that African Americans are descendants of Western Africa and Central African countries that are located towards the west.
People will call me a c00n but if Umar continues with the project the same way he is doing things right now it is all going to fail. I wonder how his supporters are going to react.

Right I am of West Indian descent which can be a diverse bunch of people ,I myself and also have North East African ancestry (and I have genetic test to prove it lol)but I am not going to cling on to it.I don't focus on North East African history because there other empires and civilizations in all over Africa that are not talked about.Too bad these so called conscious dudes who are knowledgeable don't have information on it.They could learn from it.

My problem with donations is that these guys get a dollar but many of the Panthers didn't get jack and are still not supported. These dudes have done nothing but repeat fairy tales and debate all day, not actually enable any great change.

The conscious community has been around for years .These groups have not made an impract like UNIA ,BPP,SNLC,or NAACP.They are not even remotely related to Rastafarians even though they show love. Yet people think they do something major.This is what happens when people don't do their research.

Feel you and depending where you're from you have seen these dudes on the street corners in your city. I've seen them on 125th St. in NY and 52nd St. in Philly. Before Dr. York got locked. Umar may have been one of those dudes out there in the 90's. He's saying the same shyt they were saying and the same shyt people have been saying. Everybody has all this knowledge but also has all these kids running around that they've abandoned to single mothers and they trying to tell you about not only how to RAISE YOUR FAMILY, but also HOW TO TEACH YOUR KIDS HOW TO BEHAVE.

Man ,GTFOH. Anybody looking to a leader who proclaims himself a King or a Prince of some shyt they made up is a clown. I check this thread periodically to see if people have come to their senses.

Unless Umar is someone you consider your brother whom you have shared meals with and been to each others homes you know about as much about him as he knows about you.
