I probably prefer Mason. But the acting styles are so different it's odd to even compare

True. I thought of that..but I figure if we can compare different roles altogether, why not.

Yo this shyt was powerful :dwillhuh: my wife cried but I was feeling it on the inside. I've dealt with suicidal thoughts for as long as I can remember and a lot of this shyt really struck a nerve with me. Beautiful movie I'm proud of Bradley Cooper the gawd! Everybody was damn good. Also thought it was dope having Willie Nelson's son and his band play Jack's band.

The hate for this movie from awards shows is staggering. This is a really good movie in a weak year.
Bruh this movie is high key an embarrassment. Walk Hard was to the bloated award bait movie biopic what Austin Powers was to campy spy fiction. Laid out all the tropes bare for us to laugh at and move on from. I'm glad the various award shows aren't allowing this film to just retrace every record industry drama and be celebrated for it.

The actors did well, as did the cinematographer, doesn't stop it from being one of the laziest, heavy handed, and cheesy award bait offerings of all time.

This movie being "really good" is indicative of it being a weak year.

I’m not calling it an all time classic but Bohemian Rhapsody is about to win best picture and that is not a good movie.

Given the hype I was expecting better. After they start singing together the movie went downhill for me. I wasn't really impressed with the acting. Bradley doing his best Sam Elliott and Sam Elliott just being Sam Elliott.

Look family don't quote me if you're an idiot. Me and my dog are exchanging valid points here.

I mean, A Star is Born is not a biopic, so I'm not entirely sure what Walk Hard being awesome and brilliant has to do with anything.

I just saw this last night. I don't know how the fukk Gaga didn't win best actress. She was incredible. I cried like a bytch a number of times during this movie, yall. I think its for real one of my favorite flicks of all time. Whole thing was just raw and just felt real. Great stuff.

Rented this last night and I'm gonna scoop the 4K disc asap.
I don't normally go for the love stories or movies with a lot of music in them but this movie was more than just a love story.
It told a story that really struck a chord with me as a husband, as a creative, and as a man.
It's not the best movie I've seen, but it definitely is one of the few movies that I felt was authentic and really put certain parts of my own life onto a screen accurately.
The fight scene in the bathroom was one that hit me hard because it reminded me of arguments I've had with my wife, and it put into perspective how a man can mean one thing and a woman can hear exactly what was said but understand it completely different. When he tells her "you're ugly" she flips out because of how long she's been dealing with low self esteem due to her appearance and life long rejection, but in reality, what he was telling her was that what she was becoming was ugly. He blamed himself for taking a person he believed was so pure and authentic and put her on a path that seemingly costed her, her identity and soul. She perceived it as jealousy because of how fast her career progressed.
The movie is definitely full of cliches and the majority of it was incredibly predictable, but the acting from both Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga was so authentic that it made everything resonate. The movie's main song "Shallow" is beautiful and the lyrics really hit harder after having watched the entire movie.
Soon as the movie finished, I went to YouTube and watched their Oscars performance and it really brought the whole movie full circle.
Again, not the best movie ever, but definitely one of the most genuine movies I've ever seen and I can respect it if people put it in their top 10.
I wouldn't say this is a chick flick. Any man who has seen any shred of success in his life could relate to this movie, as one of the over arching themes is the importance of remaining true to yourself despite your success or anyone's opinion. If you make or play music, I'd say chances are you're going to really like this movie.
