That's what kills me. Apparently he's only working on one of them very hard but even that is a huge time commitment. He constantly switches from one distraction to another, while promising the change will give him more time. He used to go to every convention he was invited to...then towards the end of the Dance writing process he peeled back on that. BUT then he bought a theater and started doing other business stuff, plus editing. Then he stopped editing multiple books...BUT then started working on TV pilots.
:francis:

I got zero faith in the book coming out this year. Which is pathetic on multiple levels, the biggest of which is that S7 won't even start this year. Meaning S2-S7 will have potentially premiered and ended before he put out one fukking book.

Been reading since shortly after ASOS came out but I think I'm done man. I don't think about the books anymore, don't enjoy the show, no longer read theories or all that shyt I used to enjoy. When Winds comes out I'll get it first day of course, but until then I got zero interest in discussing this shyt.
This year? :jordanhand: 2021 nikka!

I swear george has to be house targaryens biggest supporter :damn:

:takedat: It’s almost unfair how much he loves them over the lesser houses. If he writes a complete book about Viserys and Dany’s years in exile over Winds of Winter:pachaha:

You already know how It's gonna end :win:

Who gives a shyt about Winds of Winter anymore?

Does anyone really want to get sucked back into this world again when we are virtually certain never to get an ending?

I will read TWOW eventually, strictly to add more pieces to the puzzle, but the puzzle will never be complete.

This story ends next year on HBO. Whether you like it or not. Deal with it.

This shyt prob won't come out next year either, and if it does it'll be a late release (winter) I bet. I've lost faith. As I said in my last post...his focus is clearly on the prequel. I'm assuming he's writing a screen treatment, ie fleshing out characters and creating episode plot points. The competition of trying to create the prequel idea that HBO picks up is probably a major driving force too. He wants his shyt to be the one they pick.

This is even crazier when you consider that like 2-3 years ago he thought he was 6 months from completing the book :gucci:

I understood why ADWD took forever. He was struggling with some major things, including the Meereenese Knot (ie sequencing who arrived in Meereen when, how they interacted with Dany etc). Plus he re-wrote the book after scrapping the "5 year gap" thing. So it made sense. So what's his excuse for Winds being delayed lol? It may be plot related, he has lots of plots being juggled in the air...but I'm betting it's due to alllllll the distractions.
