That gif is from an old fight. I believe Tony was emotional after his win over Anthony Pettis there in 2018, returning from his LCL being torn off the bone, rehab, etc.

Tony got manhandled. No doubt in my mind Khabib woulda done the same, he’s very close to the edge of his stint in the UFC. Should fight once more and go to bellator. I’m not trying to see another Diego Sanchez

Tony is one of my 5 favorite mma fighters ever, and honestly I don’t want to see him fight ever again. He’s also battling schizophrenia and serious mental issues. I think he should avoid head trauma even more than Diego.

The Tony we saw in 2018 was still really worn down, but he pulled out wins against Pettis and Cowboy so a lot of Tony fans overlooked it. He honestly hasn’t been the same since the LCL tear, and the Justin beating was just life altering.

I state all this but I wanna say I’m not a fan of Tony.. but yeah he stays taking lumps when he fights but before he used to at least do more damage to the other fighters. That infamous trip he did after the UFC interview and everything that came with it was such a red flag it’s not even funny... hopefully he is done fighting and he can save his mental but who knows cause he still appears to be training hardcore.
I know some fighters need to train hard/spar hard... but other fighters don’t spar hard to save themselves he shoulda been one of the ones that is the ladder especially with what he’s recently been through.
