The problem with the Arcadium is that no obscure games get covered, but the AAA shyt is on the front grounds. That's one thing gaming side had that drew me in. I ended up with some hidden gems because of Gaf before it went to shyt.

Gaf was a unique place for information on obscure games/gaming news that don't get covered too greatly on other sites.

Reddit is also good for gaming news as well as Twitter if you know who to follow.

I will say though, even though it did go too far sometimes, one thing I did appreciate about neogaf was the heavy moderation.

That’s one thing I wish this site would take from it.

That’s why a lot of the alt right are happy that it’s down. Because they couldn’t get away with posting racist fukk shyt all the time.

At the same time, neogaf was on that white fake liberal shyt and would still let some sideways shyt slide.

I wish we had a black owned version of Neogaf.

Yeah.. I remember when one of their heroes,The lead singer of Pantera, said some extremely racist shyt in an on-stage rant. They had a 100 page thread defending him and it wasn't censored or taken down.

They are just as racist as the alt-right. Its not in their overt politics, but it is definitely apparent from their actions. Read all the response from the coli members in this thread and others. Many of them experienced racism from NeoGAF.

Its why the site was taken down. The mods left and the owner alone couldn't police the site anymore. It was getting out of hand so he had to pull the plug at least temporarily. The problem is now that it's gone that far it can never go back to what it was.

I'll miss Gaf because it was a great place to find out about more obscure titles. They put me up on many JRPGs I'd never heard of outside it. I'm hoping some of the mods band together and make a new site and the gaming community migrates to it but the death of Gaf is the end of an era in online gaming communities.
