80s, they were a kids gang thoughSo when were the Decepts found?
chief malikThese are Chicago Kings. Chicago gangs were the ones that used to wear varsity sweaters back in the day.
I don't understand this. Yeah some AAs still have a bit of a southern twang (my great grandmother still does) but I know plenty (id say most) that DON'T. Even less in the younger generation these days. And many times it's easy to spot a West Indian nikka cause they patois slips out. Certain Carribean phrases, slang comes out. I knew a nikka from East Ny that sounded just like BK AA nikka until he kept talking, a certain Caribbean tone/phrase slipped out.Why are black people on this thread shocked that African Americans back in the 70s still have a southern accent?
Even today in 2018 you got African americans in nyc that still have a southern twist in their words.
West Indians and Africans on the other hand do not have to that.
That’s one of my best tactics in figuring out which American black in NYC is AA or a child of an immigrant. The accent. M
I do think this current generation of AAs in NYC might be clear of the southern twist in their words tho.
Fixed. nikkas still getting stabbed in fort greene. You misunderstand.
I mean that old school New Yorkers from the 70s/80s era don’t see Flatbush or nikkas from Flatbush tuff like that. Before Jimmy Henchman and Haitian Jack type nikkas in the late 80s, Flatbush didn’t have nobody name that rung out that was Black.
Spots like Fort Greene got that jacket for being thorough before Flatbush.
And frankly, Flatbush wasn’t nearly as violent as them spots now.
early 90s was the worst thoughDespite these gangs having weird names, nyc was far more dangerous back then than it is now.
LK is over but a few the dominicans gangs are taking overIn Sunset Park where I live at I remember when I was a youngin in the 90s seeing Latin Kings and Netas. There used to be bangouts daily at what is now Sunset Terrace in 47th street. That street from 7th ave to 3rd ave was a no go zone. I was little so I didn’t really know shyt but the older I get and the stories I heard of the spots I usually be at makes me and thank God now the neighborhood is safe.
Which is good because it’s an immigrant community. Gang banging these days is corny now. But I will say this Latin Kings are on the rise. They about to make a major comeback. They own a club uptown that in two different occasions I went and everytime was filled with LK nikkas.
They also stretched to coney island. Its the only reason i pulled up to see if they were here18 Homoside Laws

Go to Playroom at Dyckman on a Thursday night. You will see mad LK nikkas in there. I go to school in Bridgeport CT and a deli near my apartment here gets packed with mad LK nikkas. Plus with the Junior shyt that happened in the BX has NYPD on a warpath to crackdown on the 3ni nikkas and DDP are all taxi drivers now. Who is going to benefit from all these 3ni get locked up? Latin Kings. They are on the come up. Quote this post in 5 years.LK is over but a few the dominicans gangs are taking over
