What's this supposed to be about? People being angry at how over Sasha was in 2016..saying fukking dead quiet audience killer Charlotte was more over than fukking Sasha Banks? Lol. Dudes are creating their own fantasy worlds over this shyt. All because they hate female wrestling....Finn wished he was getting stanging ovations like Sasha was. We can toss in Bray and Blandy wishing for that too.

HHH wasn't over in 96, part of 97, his early heel run in 99 (he wasn't heatless but wasn't getting heat common in that era on a consistent basis), late 2002/early 2003 as he was trying to get his Flair-lite character down, and oddly enough he gets more of a response these days when he plays a badass face than the heel character that is way more suited for him. The Authority was coming out to CDQ 50% of the time. But a lot of people try to paint him as a nobody and that's just not true. He's always mattered from 2000 on. He's an A- player. His legacy is just tainted by his politics so people will never give him his due. He'll be alright though.

Speaking of revisionist history, let's talk about the New Generation Era. People shyt on the New Generation Era, because it didn't do big numbers. You have to realize that all of their household names from the Golden Era had left for WCW, so they were rebuilding and rebranding. Despite the wacky gimmicks, the wrestling was piff during the NGE. Plus, that era built the foundation and the superstars of the Attitude Era. Maybe I'm biased, because I'm from WWF/E territory. I feel like most of the people who shyt on the NGE weren't even around back then. Most of these internet fans didn't become fans until the Attitude Era, at the earliest.

The NGE gets criticism because even tho' they were clearly going thru an era of rebuilding, trial & error, etc... even Vince knows that presentation is important. And what they presented during that time was outdated-looking and heavy on bad ideas. So even if you were getting Bret vs Owen which was always great, or a prime HBK, or a great Taker feud (which were rare), there was still a lot of other wack shyt to deal with in addition especially by '95. You could get a dope ass HBK vs Razor match or some shyt like that, but you also had to watch Duke the Dumpster, Tekno Team 2000, Mantaur, the Man O War, Skip & Zip, Mabel, babyface Doink, the Million Dollar stable, Double J and his country song, etc.... it was like watchin' a bunch of ideas that didn't make the cut in '87 finally being brought to life in the mid-'90s. But like you said, the one thing the NGE can be credited with is that during that time, Vince signed the stars that would later make the Attitude Era great.

Sting was washed by the time he became the crow sting and made his legacy off a year and half run where didn't even step foot in the ring.

Also, name a classic sting match flair wasn't involved in. I'll wait.

So Cal
The Rock outdrew Austin in 2000...Austin had to win the Rumble and WM 17 because people would of believed he had been replaced which is what Howard Stern thought when he interviewed Austin after Unforgiven 2000.

The Rock can lose to anyone and still do that promo the next show and be more over than anyone in history.
:ohhh: damn, rock really outdrew a nikka who was on the shelf for over half of the year?

Uncertain grounds
As much as a shytty person as HBK is, you have to admit he was over af. I went to the fan access event before Wrestlemania 11 in Hartford, CT. I was around 8 years old. There were lines to meet superstars and get their autographs. Michaels had BY FAR the longest line, and he was a heel challenging for the IC title.

I remember that ring. I wanted to get in it so bad. We waited so long for Shawn, that my mom was ready to go after that :mjcry:

I've wanted to get in a ring ever since, and still never have :mjcry:

No. You don't understand. He outdrew every Austin headlined year. Ever. 98, 99. Don't matter. The Rock outdrew Austin and headlined the most profitable year of the Attitude Era and it looks like Austin only outdrew in 2000 was because he was gone for 4 months. So get your quips and your half thoughts straightened up. If Austin was bigger than Rock, they would of made Austin do that Hogan match but they couldn't.
