Bron wasn't gonna come here if Jim Buss was still around. Kobe said it himself he talked to Bron about the Lakers even when Bron was still on the Cavs. Bron had LA in his sights but it wasn't a done deal until Kobe met with Jeanie and told her to fire Jim, and indicated to her that Bron wanted to come.

Y'all can keep denying Kobe's involvement but it's not gonna do any good. The problem is since Dr Buss died we've had various factions jockeying for power and Kobe is one of them. Jeanie is heavily influenced by guys like Kobe, Magic, Phil, her dad etc and it's been fukking with her decision making since the day Dr Buss died and she became in charge.

All I'm saying is Kobe isn't helping the situation even though he's not one of the main guys to blame.
Kobe ain't jockeying for shyt. He couldve been in the front office of he wanted to. And I'm not buying that bron came her cause of Kobe. Bron had his mind made up along ass time ago.

All facts. nikkaz need to stop making excuses. The sensitivity is bordering on Bron stain status. Let’s just admit the truth, Kobe has his proxy in the organization vying for influence on his behalf. Imagine the optics if it was Kobe himself? He’d take an unnecessary hit on his rep after spending all that time cleaning it. Phil taught this nikka well. Only thing that’ll make this more wild is if Phil himself got in the mix.
Blame the people making the decisions not the ones influencing them, it's pointless and not productive. If I go out and blow my savings on a bad stock, I'm taking the L..I'm at fault. My family that depend on me aren't gonna be looking at my advisors or people that influenced me . Decision makers get held accountable. It dont matter what or who influenced the decision. Further, none of us really know what jeannie based her decision on so to sit here and blame Kobe for any of this shyt is pointless. He shouldnt even be in this discussion.

Lol nikkas trying to blame Kobe now?
This is all Magic, Pelinka and LeBron.

Can't even really blame Jeanie, she put Magic and Pelinka in charge and they've fukked it up.

no one is saying Kobe is main one at fault but the big issue at hand for the lakers in general is that it's been a huge power struggle with various players since Dr Buss died. Kobe deserves to be in that discussion because he is one of those players. He has influence over Jeanie just like Phil does, just like Magic does, just like Dr Buss and his preference for Jim influenced Jeanie's handling of her brother. Kobe's influence is the reason Jim was fired, there reason Rob is around. He was clearly involved with Bron, Kobe told SAS this himself.

So it's not to say Kobe is the main one at fault or deserves blame or whatever, but this Laker problem is nuanced and bigger than any one person. I'm not just talking about the season it's about what's been going on ever since Dr Buss died. It's all connected. The reality is that Jeanie needs to take control of the franchise for herself, period, and stop letting her boys influence her. She hasn't shown any indication she's ever gonna do that.

My thing is who gives a fukk. Like you said it doesn't matter who influenced anything, it's a matter of who is actually making the decisions.

yeah and the person who makes the decisions makes all her decisions based off the influence of her boys. And they know that.

But breh, if you’ve been working as a seller all this time then become a buyer with none of the necessary relationships in place how am I gonna be mad at you after putting you in a bad position.

Kobe himself admitted he had shyt to do with it. You really think Jeanie would just hire Rob outta nowhere on a whim? What the fukk has he done for the Lakers other than be Kobe’s agent? It’s very obvious that Kobe has a role in this. Definitely not the main role, in fact Kobe is way down the list maybe last on people to blame. But Rob Pelinka shouldn’t even be in his position. Idgaf if Kobe was doing a favor for a friend or wanted a proxy in the palace, if we shytted on cokehead for his nepotism I’m not gonna turn a blind eye to what Kobe did.

I dont think kobe did anything wrong. He vouched for a guy that is really good at what he does, which at the time was conducting basketball business. There have been success stories from agents turned gm's... Bob Meyers for example as someone mentioned. How could he have foreseen this shyt show? TBH I remeber the majority of us were excited about the move and co-signed it. I believe you did as well, so how can you blame Kobe?
