great HOF players don't make good front office personal and even coaches. The list goes on. (Mike, Magic, etc.). If you are that caliber of player and do well in the front office/coaching then you're a damn outlier it seems.

Bron wasn't gonna come here if Jim Buss was still around. Kobe said it himself he talked to Bron about the Lakers even when Bron was still on the Cavs. Bron had LA in his sights but it wasn't a done deal until Kobe met with Jeanie and told her to fire Jim, and indicated to her that Bron wanted to come.

Y'all can keep denying Kobe's involvement but it's not gonna do any good. The problem is since Dr Buss died we've had various factions jockeying for power and Kobe is one of them. Jeanie is heavily influenced by guys like Kobe, Magic, Phil, her dad etc and it's been fukking with her decision making since the day Dr Buss died and she became in charge.

All I'm saying is Kobe isn't helping the situation even though he's not one of the main guys to blame.

Maybe Jeanie consulted Kobe prior to hiring Rob and Kobe vouched based on him and Pelinka being tight, but I doubt Kobe was the driving force behind Pelinka being hired. Let's be real, you really think Kobe has that much pull with Jeanie that she'd take his word over Magic, someone that's she's been tight with for years and was deadass crying over the thought of letting her down? Nah, Kobe doesn't have that kind of pull, but guess who would? Her best friend Linda Rambis. Guess who else is close with Pelinka and Luke? Linda Rambis. Just a few months ago Jeanie made Kurt Rambis senior basketball advisor, which was the same position that Jerry West was after 2 years ago and Magic reportedly told Jerry to kick rocks. Magic explicitly stated in the press conference that he was tired of the backstabbing and whispering going on; It's pretty clear that there was some type of power struggle going on behind the scenes. Magic might be a complete dumb ass when it comes to basketball personnel but dude wouldn't just up and quit before the last game of the season if he wasn't fed up with something.. and I highly doubt Kobe had anything to do with that shyt.
