A huge share of the top one percent are doctors, dentists, and lawyers rather than CEOs

And you would think this article would be common sense. But the "eat the rich" crowd is so blinded by envy they're only concerned with the jeff Bezos of the world. Even though if you took all of jeff Bezos money and divided it evenly among the population it would only equal like 3 bucks a person.

The fact that some people actually worked hard to get to where they are and actually contribute heavily to society (except maybe lawyers :troll:) is lost on them.

Then after all the doctors, engineers, and other people vital to society are executed or flee the country, then we all get to starve to death, our infrastructure starts failing, and we get to live out fury road.

Yay socialism!

No no, it wasn't that narrative which I can agree with you - but historically this convo has come up numerous times before and people recommend tradework over college degrees straight up.

Again, undocumented workers are not going for college educated careers and they're fighting at the bottom on the barrel for a lot of these trade jobs that people are recommending

Of course undocumented workers aren't going for college degrees. They can't get them.

But let me let you in on a little secret...

Their children will.

So many people are so narcissistic that they are unable to recognize a problem until it affects them directly.

First generation immigrants worked the fields. 2nd generation took over construction and trades, 3rd generation are legal citizens and the women will definitely be coming for those healthcare and human services jobs so many black "educated" professionals think makes them above the rest of black America. And the boys will be coming for those STEM jobs.

And with Hispanics likely becoming the majority in this country soon, they're going to get those jobs easily. And when they get entrenched they'll put their people on. And maybe 20 years from now those same "tolerant" black folks will be using the exact same "right wing" talking points they now decry.

So how much do doctors make? Thought it was around 200,000? That puts you in the 1%?

Bu..bu..but trade school gets you $19 an hour and no debt!

Bu..bu..but the illegals/Mexicans are taking our jobs!

There’s a reason why people on the right are trying to nullify ethnic minorities from getting higher education and plotting ADOS against illegals/Mexicans.

Not everyone is going to be the next entrepreneur, not everyone has got the next big idea. I’d rather see 10 doctors/engineers/dentists over 1 entrepreneur:yeshrug:

Trades make bank and shouldn't be looked down on. That money from trades can pay for a business degree and you can open up your own Sub Contracting company making bank. Or they can become superintendents or they can become construction managers. It's all about finding a field that's interesting to you that's sustainable and well

It's not good to speak on something you don't know about. If you wanna talk about what black folks shouldn't do it's become Rappers or Basketball players. So many fools at my college taking music classes n I could help but shake my head

The flaw in your argument is you don't have to do trade school the rest of your life. You could spend your early 20s stacking up, investing, and learning the business, your late 20s you got more than enough to get a Bachelor's degree in the construction field or another field. I had 40 year olds on my construction management classes. Or say an Electrician can go on to become an electrical engineer and knows way more than those 19 year olds

Trades can be a great stepping stone to those who aren't ready fo college

Y'all think it's a game out here, but none of the buildings we reside in are cheap or easy to make. You want quality you hire dudes charging $50/hr
