He's 19. He can penetrate the D but needs to develop his shot. His defense and steals are fine but he needs to work on his jump shot and driving layups in traffic, again he's 19 :gucci:

Not to mention he's come over here from France, some people can have a hard time initially with adjusting to the different culture and language. Especially if they're still just a kid like frank.

You see it all the time in football when guys are brought in from other countries all the time, some people can handle it better than others.

We should give him at least a couple of seasons to figure it out and there's definitely a player in there.

already nikkas clamoring to do the most knicks move possible
trade for kemba "i aint win shyt since college" walker :mjlol:
yal already saw how trading for starbury worked out right?
short sighted nikkas.

I LOVE Kemba's contract and I see him as a solid defender and really good offensive player...if the market is dry and we can get him for cheap, sure. But I'd expect he'll cost youth and picks thanks to his talent and contract. I'd inquire on MKG and maybe Williams though.

MKG played 81 games last season and has been healthy this season (biggest knock on him is health), he's got one more year on his deal and then an option year, 24 yrs old (actually fits our timeline) and even though he can't shoot; he'd give us the things that Lance is supposed (a true defender through and through who can get some boards and assists along with a 10 ppg type contribution). Most importantly, in this market where everyone is selling, you prolly could add a guy like this for virtually nothing.

unfortunately, all teams want from the knicks is youth and picks...and we JUST started to have an influx of picks. charlotte knows he's on a team friendly deal and that alone drives his value up.
I have no foresight as to how charlotte would trade kemba with another player on a good deal for anything less than prospects and picks.
kemba obviously is a good player...does he push the needle towards making a team a contender? nope....especially if you remove players that can develop into more than solid role players that can make a team have solid depth.
I don't see the big deal.

I think he'd push the needle just not enough. With Kemba/THJ/KP, they probably can threaten the first round imho but I don't see them getting far enough to warrant mortgaging the future which is what he'll likely cost...and also what the Knicks usually do when they're close to the playoffs and someone is available.

EXACTLY why I dont want to do it
If he's to be had for the cheap...of course do it.....but gutting your team and assets for a 5'11 player that aint the REAL isiah thomas....seems foolish
I have a bit more faith in our front office than in past years that they wont do anything ridiculous and short sighted

@ikbm the type to psych himself out and say he doesn’t want Kemba because he thinks there’s no chance but if they do trade him, he’ll be his biggest cheerleader. You ain’t fooling anyone Jared :mjlol:

MKG for Doug/Lance - one's expiring the other makes half MKG's cost for the same length.
MKG + Graham for Kanter - they'd have to move Dwight for it to make sense but if they did manage to package Dwight with Kemba to some desperate GM, it'd make some sense for them.

Similarly maybe package Doug and KOQ...Idk, there's ways that it might make sense. MKG is flawed but that's why he might be attainable without losing out on anything major.

Opportunities for a big pick up come and go, we're not really in the position to take a big swing yet. We don't have enough valuable assets to replace what we'd have to give up. But man...if they're really just trying to dump MKG, Batum, Williams and Dwight; we should chase MKG hard. He's the one other player on that team worth watching for besides Kemba.

He would be but I don't think they move Kemba unless they get a major haul.

Agreed. We don’t have much to offer. He’d have to Kyrie his way out of there basically. What works in our favor (i guess) is that we’re probably one of the only “competitive” teams in need of a pg. But who’s to say Cha won’t fukk him over and send him to a bad situation.
