@Miles Davis Nothing wrong w/ clear objective obvservations that KP needs work on.

But brehs are inventing a term on some "KP suffers from the Carmelo Effect" and acting like it's objective analysis.

Thoughts on that?
That’s bullshyt it’s disrespectful to both players. I assumed y’all were talking about people in the thread turning on KP, so that’s my fault for assuming.

I think it's fair to criticize KP for his poor play the last few weeks. Whether it's because of him elbow, maybe he's already gassed from a hot start, but whatever it is, it needs to be addressed before it becomes a mental and confidence problem. If he's still lingering from injury, sit him out for a week or two.

But I know it's basically taboo on here to say anything negative about KP, because you run into that "Heel Turn" bullshyt. At his age and with no legit 2nd option or a great PG that can make life easier for him, it's hard to tell if he's a legit superstar like Giannis or Embiid. But one thing is for sure, this team desperately needs a top pick and pair him with a bagley. So this way we can truly see if he's a number 1 or he's better off being a number 2, no shame in being a number 2. Ask Kobe (just kidding)

Some in Knicks organization want to call up Trey Burke

Excerpt of the important stuff...

Call Burke up, cut Sessions and bench Jack. Burke as a back-up, Frank as a starter and whether it works or not at least you're giving young guys with upside minutes to work on their game. Since it's an assumed minimum deal, I'd push for a team option with Burke's contract too. KOQ on the block is interesting too but clearing some of the logjam at C to make a logjam at PG is scary with Hornacek.
none of this is happening

It's bizarre. Speaking of international competition, I think the Latvian system got KP more looks closer to the basket and just in more diverse spaces on the floor. We were supposed to implement some of it ourselves and I rarely if ever notice it. Watching the Wiz guards set screens that confused Kanter and our bigs in general reminded me about it. Our system makes it easy to settle on jumpers with deep isolations whereas Latvia was able to mix things up a bit and get KP some easy baskets...and their guards weren't very good on most nights.
some players just have fatigue problems
kp by all accounts worked his ass off this summer and hes tired again like hes been the last two seasons
no 22 year old should be tired, international play or not
now hes tired with more den half a season left and has no one that can consistently help him with the work load like in previous years

I'm not sold on him having family as managers and handlers. I can't say the quality of training he's receiving but I don't trust cats that don't have a world class rep behind them. The fatigue might just be a problem we have to deal with (in which case it's even more reason to tank and get him help from a Doncic or a Bagley), but this is also a bigger workload than he ever had and he played in the FIBA tournament. So I'll try to be optimistic and just say the dude needs to stay in the states and train with the best team in the world that can be assembled...the Knicks got the money anyway. I want a dream team on call for him all offseason.

10 day contracts available tomorrow and the G-league showcase is coming up on top of Burke being player of the month. Perry recruited him. My hot take is they floated this out to try and buy a bit more time to make space without having to make a cut. We'll see...give it two weeks.

All star break can't come fast enough,I wanna see KP get rested at least a little bit. But yeah, I was braced for this mid point wall to be a thing for KP. Last year at this point we where talking about KP being the best sophomore in the NBA, and his first year he was neck and neck with Towns for rookie of the year for the first few months of the season. The team losing and getting a small ball 4 who can create his own shot in the draft is probably the best option for the team now.

edit: I didn't realize KP had anemia too. KP has the talent and skill to be a #1 for sure, but he might not be able to carry the load throughout a season as long as he has it and plays international ball in the off-season too.
