I didn't think I'd be saying this at any point in the season, but early on the Knicks are winning the Melo trade. Both Enes and Mcdermott are playing the best basketball of their careers right now and Enes has been solid defensively which is very surprising. Don't know if they can sustain this level of play but you gotta figure that fit and chemistry have helped elevate their games too, they may have found a home long term:blessed:.

Kanter is a knick through and through. He isn't the best player in the world, but it's what NYC loves to see in a basketball player through and through.

I have obviously been following him since before the NCAA denied him going to Kentucky.

frank is a point guard bro
we need a wing with versatility badly.
someone that can switch from 3-5 seamlessly and pose mismatches on the other end

I agree. But if it’s not Bagley/Porter/Knox/Bridges, what do we do?

Let’s say we get the 9th pick or something and the best player available is a guy like Trevon Duval or another really solid pg, would y’all consider taking him, or should we just take the best big/wing available? We could slide Frank to the 2 and Timmy to the 3 and just go from there.
Yeah duval is a player that would be great because he can play the 1 or 2
And would be great next to frank, if we don't get him then I think we still need a guard who can break down defenses like a Troy Brown or Malik Newman or even Aaron Holiday

Lebron sure did show us he’s the king of NYC by coming back and winning against a team of mostly young players, a team he’s supposed to beat, a team that’s partially rebuilding AND by letting Kyle Korver do all the work for him:mjlol:
Lol I wouldn’t say that. Most of Kyle Korver’s looks were generated from Frye screens and LeBron passes. LeBron’s defense on KP in the 4th was superb and he scored 7 points in the 4th himself including the go-ahead three pointer in KP’s grill.

It was a tough loss but young teams struggle to close games.

I don't love it that this is the case, but Dougie probably needs more minutes. He moves without the ball, he makes decent decisions, he creates easier baskets for this team. He's an awful defender, and doesn't consistently execute when he has the space (for a jumper or a drive) - but he's competent enough that there's no reason Beasley should play.

Knicks took a tough L last night, but it was an exciting game against the team that will likely represent the East in the finals -- that's a good thing. They're not supposed to be good this year. They're supposed to be bad but competitive. They're supposed to still make some youngish team mistakes. Would have been dope to blow out LeBron after him talking that shyt. But the knicks aren't there yet. That's fine.

A couple stray observations
- The offense broke down in the 4th, and it was because they stopped running plays, EVEN a pick and roll.
- Because the cavs shot so poorly for 3 quarters, the Knicks got lazy on the perimeter, and letting Korver heat up with space let the Cavs creep back into it.
- Iso'ing KP with LeBron guarding him was bad coaching. That is the worst kind of matchup for him, a stronger, more athletic defender, who doesn't need to give him any room to shoot
- Lance/Frank should have been subbed in at the 6-7 minute mark in the 4th. Jack/Kanter killed us on D
- Kanter played about as great as Kanter can play, and he gets bonus points for standing up for Frank. I don't like depending on him to give us minutes, but I like him.
- Hornacek botched this game down the stretch, i respect him trying to let them play through it, but you gotta yank the reins a few times to get the team in line.
- GOOD ON FRANK for pushing LeBron out of his way. LeBron is out here trying to give himself vendettas and chips on his shoulder, so he plays harder (classic MJ motivation maneuver) and got himself hyped to play a 19 year old french point guard rookie. And frank didn't back down. Cool. Frank is gonna be fine. The kid is a menace on D.
- Wade jumped in late with a few cagey veteran moves - offensive boards, key steal, etc ... not having a guy like that hurts.
- Lee looks more aggressive than I've ever seen him, and I love it.
- When they finally realize that KP at the 5 is a potent lineup, somebody on the coaching staff is going to have to teach him and Hardaway to box out - because they don't do it.

- Gonna see another tough rookie wednesday, in Donovan Mitchell.

It's funny, this thread FOR YEARS NOW has been largely in support of moral victories -- Winning meaningless games during horrific seasons, when losing was their only hope to improve. Now you've got guys bailing from the team, coming back in just to troll, making fun of a team playing hard -- because their favorite player got traded, or because they really liked phil jackson?

:Saunders: I see what's happening.

I'd take Hamidou Diallo over Duval since you already have a PG, or trade down and take yet another foreigner like Rui Hachimura, but I don't think yall could handle having to do that again :russ:

Also try to get Mikal Bridges with a late first or early 2nd.

Raleigh by way of Crooklyn
Frank need to shoot the rock more

He needs a quicker release; his shot takes time to get off, so it seems like he's not comfortable pulling it unless he is absolutely sure that he has space. I saw a couple times last night where he had someone in front of him, but he hesitated on putting up the shot because he wasn't sure how quickly they would close out on him.

i found myself yelling at him to shoot or drive a lot. love him defensively but i think Knicks wouldve won if he took more chances

i wanna see where the knicks go from here
a win like that would of gave us crazy momentum
on the other hand, a lost like that can be demoralizing
you can tell the knicks really wanted that one, and lebron kinda sonned us.
KP choked as well.
the streak of us not winning games unless kp drops 30 continues.

also, i dont no what management is waiting for us. we need to make some moves
we have several quality players sittin there getting no quality burn
the longer willy and them stay on the bench, the lower their value becomes
