I'm more amazed at how quickly they spent the money. It's not like they said "hey lets pay a couple of bills and get some plane tickets." They bought an RV, cars, gave money away etc. Lets say the bank actually GAVE them free money on purpose and said "it's yours." They burnt through it in half-a-month. That's insane. I'm curious if they just have bad habits or if they thought by spending it....no one would come looking for it.

Nah not really. If a person just drops money on the side of the road, it's gonna be nigh impossible to trace it. Conversely, a business can literally just check their history, find the account number that the money was deposited to, and just put in a refund notice.

In short, a bank can easily find you because it left a paper trail, whereas Joe Buck is SOL.

I don't live in the US but when I did $1000 wasn't the average. I just looked it up and that's minimum wage. I once worked at a place where I earned $6 an hour and had way more than $1000 in savings, by myself. We are talking about two people. The article made no mentions of kids. Bruh if you have a job and don't have more than $1000 in savings you're hustling backwards.

America is not the richest country but ima let you cook. The problem is that people don't save money. You know how many of my people I had to help open up saving accounts for. If we got paid on Friday most of my Co workers would be broke on Monday. Some love to spend money as soon as they get it.
