A bank accidentally put $120,000 in a couple’s account. Then the pair spent most of it, police say.

That's on the couple. Why would you spend money that inexplicably popped into your bank account? You know that you didn't do shyt to earn it, so at some point, the thought has to come across your mind that someone made a mistake somewhere.

Exactly. If the bank somehow took money out of their account, we all know they would have been on the phone within five minutes trying to get their cash back.

I'm more amazed at how quickly they spent the money. It's not like they said "hey lets pay a couple of bills and get some plane tickets." They bought an RV, cars, gave money away etc. Lets say the bank actually GAVE them free money on purpose and said "it's yours." They burnt through it in half-a-month. That's insane. I'm curious if they just have bad habits or if they thought by spending it....no one would come looking for it.

It’s funny to me everybody up in arms calling them dumb

But the same people see an article where someone turns in 2k they found and they are the biggest dummies for that too

It’s essentially the same exact thing. If this was a bag of cash on the road, nikkas would be begging them to steal every penny

Sounds like they ain’t really got much income anyway, not like they got a lot the bank can come after, fukk that bank. Let them try to make you pay it back or die trying :smugbiden:
I’d file bankruptcy the same exact day. 120k in debt... oh that’s an easy case

If you woke up with a Lambo in your driveway this morning you gonna start driving it like it's yours? Like no one is gonna be looking for it? lol
Hell fukking yea. That’s a lambo nikka. They left the keys and registration too?

At some point, this becomes your fault. If I leave my goddamn car at somebody’s house on their property, with the keys. How I’m gonna be mad when they do what they want? Shouldn’t have left it there

Random person finds a random bag of cash on the road, that shyt, more than likely isn't traceable.

If a financial institution puts money in the wrong account, they can easily figure out who it went to.

You really prepared to take a felony on your record for what amounts to a couple years worth of earned income on a common job? If a person had $120K sitting in the bank and they were frugal as hell they might be able to last 3-4 years on it granted they owned their home and care already outright. That's not fukk up your life money.
it's also not ruin someone else's life money. the bank has $225 BN in assets...that's .0000005% of their assets that were "lost". FOH :camby:

their mistake....like i said, create some "reasonable" settlement to "teach a lesson" and move all the fukk out the way

Yep, that's the big difference.

If I found a giant bag with $2 million in it, I'd probably sit on it and wait to see/hear any news. That kind of money, if someone legit lost it...they'd be all over the news begging for it back. If the money is dirty, no one would say anything. Good idea to hold onto the money and see what happens because it's possible someone saw you grab the bag. Once it's clear there's no heat, then you start spending.

Only problem is actually getting the money into an account. Banks report dang near anything you put into your account, especially amounts up to $10k but they can report it as low as $2,500. If you make a series of "structured" deposits, they'll track that too and you might get in trouble with the IRS. Gotta put that money in slowly over time. Pay for everything with cash and save the direct deposit paycheck. I'm sure there are easier ways if you can work around with foreign banks but :yeshrug:
