and their international presence shyts on their competition here in the states. Netflix owning the distribution rights to movies made in the states shown in other countries on Netflix is dope.


HBO Max is the king though esp considering quality.

It's because the algorithm running the show over there with the main goal just being content. They strictly follow trends, greenlight based on them. Very few exceptions where they'll let some hot director or writer cook just to get their name on the platform. Often those end up being experimental too because that artist knows netflix dgaf and basically just gonna give them a blank/big check to just make something.

Those streaming services may trump Netflix in terms of the quality of their shows, but numbers suggest otherwise. See a lot of hate for Netflix and while some of it is warranted, they’re still reigning supreme at the end of the day.

I think it’s moreso the generalization that all Netflix Originals are fast food entertainment that is laughable. Some great shows out there with critical acclaim and Emmy wins so clearly that is not the case.
