HBO was in their pocket too
To me it looks like Netflix puts out content based on their viewer analytics instead of going for quality. They are mostly putting out things based on their algorithm because it brings in views. And while it's obviously been very successful in most cases it ends up being trash 
Of course when you give a green light to Martin Scorsese, Alfosno Cuaron and David Fincher they will deliver a great movie but there have been only a handful of such projects in a sea of disposable rom-coms, horror movies, b-action flicks and single season throwaway shows

True. But when ppl use your company bc they cut the cord, you gotta keep pumping out content.
You can put out whatever and it's in HD so it looks great. Ppl are paying $10 a month so tbey are less likely to complain. And there's some ppl simply can be entertained by anything
